Cherokee's POV "Welcome to the Scott family's house Cherokee meet my grandma and grandpa, my sister, Phoenix and Celeb, my cousin. That frame over there are the memorable pictures of my late Mum and Dad." Brown paused, clenching his mouth with his palm. A wave of sadness fills the living room. Irremediable sorrow to put right. "We lost them in a fatal car accident but the business empire has been will to me now, so I'm barely taking charge of it," Brown concluded. A gloom overcame me. I heard a burst of cries that immediately turned into whimpers. I felt layers of unsettling emotion. A sob rose in my throat. "Like I said feel free this is your home now just be happy. Whatever you need just ask and it will be provided for you. I have ordered everyone in the house to treat you like a family member." Grandma pulled Brown to the corner of the living room far away from the sight of Cherokee., "What are you doing you should be introducing her as your mate to us. Why are you hiding that don't you think you need a mate now, I don't know much about her but I think she's a good girl. You're a grown man now. I need grandchildren to make me happy And you have to follow the legacy of our family. You have to take up the Alpha role in our pack from where your father left off but you need a mate." "Oh grandma not again! Cherokee is not my type of girl, I just brought her in here to help her. She has been maltreated in the street by the neighborhood. I've heard the news all over the vicinity. I'm still looking for someone that will love me for who I am. I have not found her yet. I believe I will find her soon, okay?. Cherokee is not just my type of girl, She can not be my mate, we have no connection or mate bond." "Can we end this discussion now Grandma? please! whatever she needs please kindly provide for her and tell my siblings they should do the same too." Brown, storms out of the living room to his bedroom but Celeb knew he wasn't alright. He needs to talk to him so he followed him behind immediately. Brown knew he shouldn't be walking out on his Grandma's so he went back to the living room to find his Grandma approaching him, "Come on boy! you can give her a shot. Just try her out. She might be all you've been looking for." "No, never! Cherokee is not my type. She is lowly and has no family background. Grandma why can't you ask me about her before trying to suggest that I marry her. That is hurting my feelings. She is not my dream girl?" Brown growled. "Where every young guy says such at the beginning of a love affair believe me they get their mind blown away by what they get to discover about her later," Grandma said. Brown's grandpa looks at him sternly, "Regardless of who you want to marry. Cherokee is a good girl, or are you refusing to follow the word of your grandpa. Brown subconsciously step back from the table he leaned on. He paced the floor in submission after grandpa muttered angrily. "Good," replied his grandpa gruffly before returning to his magazine. Brown storm out of the living room, heading downstairs towards his larger room. He got in wrapping the window to avoid the sun before smashing the ball of his fist against the wall in frustration. Brown's cousin Celeb sighed as he walked in, "I think grandpa wants the best for you. You are 35 years old. And you have all the wealth you would ever need. You can't be thinking of any other thing apart from having a good girl as a mate. You need to pick a wife. Who knows you might think she's not good for you but eventually she becomes what you need. Get yourself up let's go play volleyball then finish at the swimming pool. You'll be fine when we are done." Brown calm himself down. He just wanted to get over the whole stuff. perhaps just a break. When he's back he will think of what to do about Cherokee. He decided to swim instead, maybe that could help his mood. Stepping out on his grey swimming suit, He dives into the pool and stood about two and a half feet above the water; because he is about 6ft. And the pool water level was around 4ft. He stares at the water, and it stares right back at him. His goggles give the water a crystal blue tint that taunts him; the water thinks it is in a better mood than he. In just a few seconds, he was moving down that runway, trying to take off above the water after a little warm-up exercise. His eyes were focused on that tile, to make sure he is in the center and avoid slips. He can see the water grinning and laughing at him now; he is standing on the block with his knees almost to the point of shaking. The water can tell how nervous he is. As the thought of Cherokee strikes him one more minute after another. As he dives nevertheless, into the pool for the second time he realized he wouldn't be able to get swimming today. He pulled out and the maid threw him the towel. "Are you Okay, Brown?" Celeb swam to the scum gutter close to him. "I am not really. I am overwhelmed by the whole thing. I just wanted to help her and not marriage. I don't want to send her back to the street." "Don't worry if it is about Cherokee, the lowly girl you brought home some moments ago. You can count on me for anything, I will do it if it will make you feel better." Are you sure Celeb?" Brown asked. A glimpse of a smile emerged on his face. "Yeah, trust me. I mean it." Caleb chuckled. "Let swim then." He said.
