Chapter 9: Helena didn’t sleep the short remainder of the night though her meditation had left her feeling refreshed. Master Ao had repeatedly told her she needed to become centered, control her emotions, and find peace but she never understood what he meant. More often than telling her what she needed to do, he spoke in riddles. Her aversion for puzzles grew daily. She started meditating last night to journey to the land of the immortals to confer with and perhaps discover what had happened in San Francisco with Doyle and Tsang Mei.
