I didn’t know that the Wen, Kayden was talking about is Wendy. I’m shocked when I saw her outside. Though I hide it by scolding Kayden’s mate. My mind still running about the coincidence.
I told Kayden before I left that she will stay in the guest room next to mine. He looks shocked but didn’t question my decision.
I don’t even know why I did that.
Yesterday, I must admit. I am thinking to go back there and ask Wendy to join my pack. How nice to know that I don’t need to do that.
‘You’re interested in her.” Stallion says. It’s not a question but a statement.
‘That’s too early to say Stallion.’ I replied.
I heard a knock on my door before Kayden enters my office.
“Alpha.” Kayden greeted.
“Do you have news about Angel and her doings?” I asked. I give him a task to find out what’s Angel doing right now. I need to reconcile with her.
“No, she ignores all calls coming from here and Gabriel told me to give Angel some space because she almost burns their house because of anger.”
“I see. How about you mate and Wendy? What time they’ll be here?”
Kayden smirks at me.
“You know, I’m wondering, do you know Wendy? You seem nice to her and give her the room next to you.” Kayden teases.
“Wipe off that smirks of yours. I just met her at the bar where you met your mate. It just turns out that she’s your mate's best friend and will become part of our pack later.” I said.
“I feel something fishy about this. As far as I know, Wendy will be in the row houses made for pack warriors but at the last minute, you change your mind and let her stay here. Not just here but the room next to you.” Kayden says while still smirking at me.
I am about to throw him my pen when we heard a knock on my door.
“Come in,” I said.
Allie enters with Wendy.
“Alpha.” They said in unison. I signal them to sit. Kayden hand them the papers they need to fill out before we do the ceremony later.
Strangely, I sense that Wendy is nervous and hesitating to fill up the forms.
Allie finishes her paper first. I look at all the information but she answers it all while Wendy is still answering her papers.
I look at Kayden and signal him to go out with Allie. I think Wendy and I need to talk. He smiles and winks at me like a maniac. If it wasn’t for the sake of these two girls, Kayden’s ass is already on the floor.
“Allie, we need to check what you and Wendy will wear tonight,” Kayden says.
“But Wendy is still answering her paper. We can look at it later.”
“You can go Allie and you choose what will I wear. You know I’m not good at that.” Wendy says.
I feel that she wants to talk to me too alone.
“Okay, see you later,” Allie said before bowing to me and leaving the room.
“Okay speak,” I told her.
She looks surprised at my sudden words.
“ahm …. It’s complicated. It’s…”
“Look Wendy, I’m looking at you since Kayden gave you that papers. You barely wrote something on it. If you have a problem tell me or else, I don’t know what to do.” I said.
She looks me in the eyes. She looks nervous.
“I came from Full Moon pack. My parents died when I was young and the Alpha brought me to the packhouse and become a maid there. He treated me badly and my mate, he married the Alpha daughter. I left the pack on the day of their marriage. They want to keep me there but I ran away. I’m having a hard time filling the information here because I’m afraid that you contact them to verify the information and they come and take me.” She explains.
I didn’t know that I’m holding the side of my table too tight. I feel mad about what they do to her and especially to her mate that chose another girl to be his mate.
“Did you accept his rejection already or did he even reject you?” I ask.
“He rejected me on the day of his wedding. He needed to do that to be fully mated to his chosen mate.” I said.
“Even he did that, his soul still holds a part of you if you didn’t reject him back,” I told her.
“I know. I will. I want a new life and I think being part of your pack will be the start of it.” She said.
I remember Angel again. Wendy’s eyes reflect the same eyes I saw a few years ago. A girl who’s broken-hearted. A girl who loses hope.
“Finish the paper, Wendy. Don’t worry about anything. Even they found you and wanted to get you. I will not let them be. I will kill anyone who wants to harm my pack and my people.” I said with a promising voice.
“Thank you, Alpha Mark. This is a big help for me.” She grabs my hand and we were both shocked when we felt a spark. I look at her and my hand and she did the same to her hands and me.
“Did you feel that?” She asks.
I feel unease at the thoughts in my head and I brush them off.
“I think we both caught up in the moment. You can leave now to prepare. You still have four hours before the ceremony starts. Take some rest. I know that you’re tired.” I said.
She smiles and walks out the door.
‘Did you feel that?’ I ask my wolf.
‘I do. Can it be possible to have a second mate?’ Stallion asks.
‘I don’t know. Only the Moon Goddess what is possible. She always manipulates us.’ I said bitterly.
‘You know that she can hear you right?’
‘I want her to hear it too. We’ve been through a lot.’
‘If Wendy is rejected by her true mate, we can possibly choose her as our chosen mate.’
‘That’s too early to tell Stallion. We don’t know her fully.’
‘I can feel her wolf. It’s reaching out to me.’
‘It’s because you are a powerful wolf. Mate less wolf is like that.’
‘But if I chose her, she will be mine alone and no one can take her away from me.’ Stallion says.
‘Me too.’ I guaranteed. I can’t deny the attraction I’m feeling toward her. Now that I know that she’s mate-less already. I can have a chance which Angel suggested to me.
I still have a choice and a life to cherish.
Did you bring her to me Moon Goddess to start another disaster or are you being nice and giving me a new life?
