Chapter Three Office Life Monday morning she arrived promptly at her desk at Omnicon, the big international conglomerate. Almost immediately her boss Larry Fromm called her into his office. He sat at his desk reading a report. He looked up and told her to close the door. She sat down at a chair in front of his desk. Then he returned to his reading. A few minutes later he put the report down and looked at her. It was not a friendly look. “I’ve been reading your report. So you don’t think the company should go ahead with the project.” “No, I don’t.” “Don’t you think maybe you’re overstating the risk?” “I don’t think so. You’ve seen the numbers.” “Ah yes, the numbers.” His tone was sarcastic. He picked up the report again and turned a few pages. “You’re sure these are correct?” “Yes,
