"Alaina!" Felix cupped my face as I lay shaking on the ground. I couldn't wrap my head around everything that had happened. Nezzura...my dad was going to work with Norrix...he would have turned out as bad as Erin...
"Talk to me!" Felix urged as he lifted me off the ground. He carried me to the bed and set me down carefully. I, however, didn't let him leave. I wrapped my arms around him and it hit me like the breaking of a dam. Tears fell free as I sobbed into his chest.
He comforted me as best he could without knowing what happened. He rubbed my back and whispered words of comfort into my ear. I heard someone else sit down next to us and felt another pair of arms around me.
"It's going to be okay," I heard Jasmine whisper.
But that's exactly the problem. There was a very high probability that everything was not going to be okay.
After a while Jasmine went back to tending to her mother and the baby. Felix didn't leave my side and we laid side by side, staring at the roof. No words were exchanged but Felix didn't seem to mind. He did, however, have a death grip on my hand.
"I'm hungry," I stated shorty after my stomach growled. Felix turned to look at me with a raised eyebrow before sitting up.
"What me to go grab you something?" He asked.
"No, let's go grab something," I told him as I rolled off the bed. He followed suit in silence as we made our way down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Potts took one look at me before dropping a pan and wrapping me up in a warm hug. She patted my hair and stroked my cheek before stepping away with her hands on her hips.
"What happened?" She demanded.
"I..." I started but couldn't continue, "let's talk later."
"Alright," she said as she sent a glance at Felix before turning back to me, "hungry?"
"Very," I said and she nodded before setting to work. Me and Felix sat at the table as we waited for our food.
"Are you going to tell me what happened?" He asked, his eyes on the chandelier above us.
"Later," I said as I grabbed his hand, "I don't want to think about it right now."
"Of course," he said with a sigh as Potts brought us out some soup.
We mumbled our thanks before digging in. I actually didn't realize how hungry I really was until I took the first bite.
After we finished we stepped into the kitchen to get ride of our bowls. Potts was no longer in her apron and the floor was gone off her face.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"You mean, where are we going."
