11. CHAPTER ELEVEN

2100 Words
JAKE’S POV I was marching towards her the minute I perceived her scent on school grounds. Her head was bowed in her usual fashion and she was dressed in the most ridiculous clothing for this time of the year. A blue long sleeved turtle necked body hugging top and long blue jeans complete with sneakers.  For a minute, I just stood behind her, breathing in her scent and calming my wolf. She was here and there was no white haired freak standing beside her and she smelt clean, like peaches, a staple omega scent that I was slowly starting to like. I f*****g hated peaches! I knew she could feel me behind her as her entire frame stiffened and her heart seized for a second before starting up in a hammer.  I couldn’t tell for sure why I was talking to her but my wolf was almost going crazy. It was a feeling I was not used to and I abhorred it with every fibre of my being, bar my wolf. I wasn’t used to having a girl constantly creep into my thoughts and she had been doing just that since I saw her being all chummy with a strange boy.  “Look at me,” my wolf growled and the chatter of the hallway slowly died down as people started to get caught up in a discussion that wasn’t any of their business. Man, teenagers had to be the nosiest set of people on the planet.  She still would not look at me and my wolf was getting fidgety, wanting to make an appearance and it was not a slip up I could afford so I grabbed her chin and forced her to acknowledge my presence and what I saw made me suck in a startled breath.  “Who did this?” My voice was my wolf’s and it was gritty and strained. My teeth were growing, changing and becoming more than their usual number as I fought back a half change.  “No one,” She whispered, moving her face out of my grip as she ducked her head again. The f**k did she mean no one?  Her eyes were black and swollen half shut and a big bump was at the left side of her forehead. Her lips were also cracked and she said no one had done it? Except she beat herself up, there was no way her face could be like that from the hands of no one. Why wasn’t she healing?  “Did you beat yourself up?” I asked sarcastically. Her head raised for a split second as she glared reproachfully at me before she went back to being a submissive little omega.  “I fell down the stairs in a dramatic tumble. It happens all the time when you’re an omega klutz,” she answered in a monotone. It was rehearsed. There was no convincing me otherwise. The prying eyes of the members of our school was making talking to her more difficult as not only did their gazes intrude in on our conversation, I also heard them whisper ridiculous theories as to why I was speaking to her.  I grabbed her hand more forcefully than was necessary and pulled her with me to avoid the intruding stares of my pack and schoolmates. Since we were surrounded by wolves in our high school, I had to take her a good distance away from school grounds to avoid nosy teenage wolves that would surely listen in on a conversation that did not concern them.  “Who did it?” I demanded again, more forceful this time. I could tell she was slowly getting freaked out by my behaviour and I wanted to stop being a hard ass and give her time to relax before answering me but I was vibrating with so much rage I couldn’t think straight.  “No one. I – I already told you I fell down the stairs – I practically bounced down the stairs,” She lied. It was an obvious lie as she wouldn’t look anywhere at me, preferring to gaze at the ground as she rubbed at her arm.  “Bullshit!” I exclaimed making her jump. I hadn’t meant to startle her but by god, I was so angry! I wanted to rip into someone, hard and fast, and that someone would preferably be the asshole that marked her with so many bruises. “Tell me who did it! Tell me who hit you!” I shouted in annoyance.  “No one hit me. Please,” She apologized. For what? My body seemed to be acting of its own accord as I reached for her, only to have her flinch away before I could touch her. Why the f**k did that make my heart clench so tight? “Just leave me alone,” She muttered angrily and I paused.  What the hell? The last time we had been alone together, She had been covered in my c*m. I never had a girl instantly hate me just a few days after declaring their love for me.  ‘You’ve never had a girl that happens to be your mate either. Stop being so vain!’ My wolf hissed in my head.   “I’m not leaving you alone until you tell me who hit you!” I shouted, this time, I embraced all the anger I was feeling. “You look f*****g terrible and you want me to believe the bull crap that you fell? Did you fall with your face? Your leg is f*****g working and your face looks like you’ve been boxing and you tell me you fell? Stop f*****g lying,” I exhaled deeply at the end of my rant but the anger was still making my blood boil.  “I’m not lying and if I am, it’s entirely my business and not yours,” she snapped, raising her head and glaring at me. It was the cutest thing after puppies and this omega thought it would intimidate me.  She was right, it was not my business, especially since I had rejected her but darn it! A strange part of me could not help but feel – dare I say it? A part of me felt possessive – there, I said it. It was a wolf thing and as much as I hated it, I had been forced to confront it the minute I saw her giggling with the white haired boy yesterday. The thought ‘Mine! Mine! Mine!’ had vibrated through my entire being and if I didn’t have such a strong control over my wolf, he would have charged the loser daring to touch his mate. I don’t know – he had been giving off flirty vibes and that was my f*****g mate!  “Was it him? Did that bastard do this to you?” I demanded and her eyes – they seemed to betray her thoughts but as fast as surprise had flitted through them, they shut off again, giving off a cold look.  “I don’t know who or what you’re talking about, “ she said in a defiant tone, going as far as squaring her shoulders.  “So it was him! That white haired freak,” I growled, cracking my knuckles and formulating a plan to utterly destroy the bastard. Oh man, I would enjoy sinking my claws into him and grabbing at his innards, yanked them as he screamed for help. My thoughts were feral, I knew that, but damn! I had never felt this kind of strong hatred before.  “What white haired – oh, you mean Kieran,” She exclaimed as a light bulb went off inside her mind. So that was the name of the bastard. Well, I was much closer to finding him and ripping his head off. Kieran. What a shitty name. “Kieran has nothing to do with this. I already told you I fell! Why wouldn’t you let it go?” She asked bitterly. It was the most daring way she had ever spoken to me and I hated that I liked it.  “I’m not going to let it go because suddenly a new guy enters your life and the next day you look like an even bigger loser than usual and you want me to let it go? f**k, girl, I’m nowhere close to letting it go. Either way, he’s going to get an ass whooping for daring to lay his hands on you,” I proclaimed, meaning every word I said.   “I’m a loser and s**t happens to losers so leave me the f**k alone,” She snarled and it was sick but JJ started to raise his head. “Besides, he’s a beta so he can take you,” she smiled triumphantly.  It sucked that my mate thought some random loser could take me because he was a beta. I had at least fifty pounds on that scrawny freak and since she didn’t know how ranks worked, I took pleasure in educating her.  “Honey,” I started in mockery. “He can take on any beta but the only beta that can stand as an equal match against me in this pack is the beta, Mason. He can take on any other random gamma but not me,” I told her smugly.  She rolled her eyes in an unnaturally sassy way, unnatural for such a meek omega, and then she muttered something in disgust. “Just leave me alone. And leave Kieran alone, he had nothing to do with this,” she said. “Do you have a crush on him or what?” I asked in exasperation. She blushed. f*****g hell, she turned a deep crimson red, from her blond roots, to the only part of her skin visible through her ridiculous attire. She f*****g blushed and more anger swept through me.  “It’s none of your business, “ She said and then she turned to f*****g leave. The nerve on this omega! I grabbed her, wanting to give her a piece of my mind but with the way she tremble at my touch and the fire in her eyes, another thought quickly washed away all prior thoughts of reprimand. I kissed her.  Her petite body moulded perfectly against mine as my lips swept across hers, hard and punishing. I poured all of my s****l frustration into that kiss as best as I could and my member started to stir from that simple kiss. The f*****g same JJ that had sat limp after being jacked for an entire ten minutes. She moaned quietly as my hand came up to grip her hair and I swallowed the moan. I liked her hair – it was soft and smelt f*****g incredible. Her hands reached up to rest on my chest and my wolf purred. She kissed clumsily, like a newbie and I would not be wrong to think she’d never kissed another. f**k if that didn’t make my wolf more possessive. She was shy and inexperienced and my wolf growled ‘Yes, yes, yes' and ‘mine, mine, mine.’ I buried my nose into her neck, swiping my tongue from her jaw to her chest, coating her in my smell as a primal urge overcame me. My wolf would barely stay still, trying to force my hand, jump out and claim her but I was still slightly rational enough to know I wasn’t ready for that. **** The look on Miss Houston’s face was a terrible one and I knew she was up to no good. Nothing more than I expected from a good for nothing old hag with nine cats and a s****l hunger for young boys. “I’ll be assigning a project to you all today and I expect it complete and in my mail in six weeks,” She started. The nerds sat up straighter, pens poised to scribble down her every word, while the rest of us that were going to make the nerd do our work lounged in our seats and let our minds wander.  I didn’t like repeats but for Omega Clara, my d**k was thirsty for another dip. It would be dangerous to let that happen.  “You’re going to write me a short story on any topic as long as it resonates with your person and I expect you to be ready to stand before this class and educate us on how the subject matter is personal to you,” Miss Houston was saying.  She didn’t even fit into my physical spec so why was my d**k so interested in her? Did the mate bond that I was rejecting make average people look stunning to JJ? “This project is worth fifteen percent of your final grade so it’s up to you if you want to slack or pass,” She continued “I’ll also be assigning you partners to work on this project with,” She said, smiling when a large portion of the class groaned.  “Faith Henderson and Michael Smith,” A nerd and another nerd. A perfect match. “Alex Wood and Emma Croft,” She read out. My mind wandered again and it didn’t return until I heard my name. “Jake White and Clara Hansen,” She grinned.  Well f**k me.
