CHAPTER FIVEThe dining room was breathtakingly beautiful.
Alina looked around the huge table that seated forty people.
She realised that the seating plan had been altered because she and Denise had joined the party virtually at the last minute.
As would be expected, the Dowager Countess was sitting on the right of their host.
Alina herself had been placed on his left.
At the other end of the table Lord Teverton was seated next to the Princess and the Earl was on her right and Denise, of course, was seated on his left.
The party consisted of a number of what Alina thought must be the Dowager Countess’s special friends because they were mostly much older.
Prince Alberto, who was on her left, informed her that a number of people were coming in after dinner was finished.
