Chapter Fifteen The Woman in Question After another splendid day in the dungeon, and a slab of reheated lasagna for dinner, Rachel decided to take a walk. She had some thinking to do, and a change of surroundings often provided fresh perspective. Alex was already trussed up for the night (safely this time) and despite all the excitement underground she had a hankering now for vast vistas and wind in the trees. She swapped her sneakers for combat boots and holstered on an Israeli-made Desert Eagle fifty caliber pistol. Though grizzlies were no longer endemic to this area, black bears and cougars haunted these mountains, and either one could make a right mess of any unarmed human. The largest, most powerful handgun made, the Desert Eagle had enough stopping power to drop even Ursus Hor
