V - Hacienda

THIRD PERSON

“Lexus... Has failed, my King.” A man said, to what Lexus remembers as Hermios, one of the men who are loyal to the King. The King has a lot of trust for Lexus because of his power and bravery, the King wants Lexus to replace him, but he still failed to find the girl in the prophecy and kill her.

“What should we do, my King?” One of the vampires asked, looking at a map, the King immediately answered.

Lexus had failed for his love for Amelie was more muscular, his emotions were faster than him, now the girl in their mission has fallen on the hands of werewolves, slowly, Cascada would fail because of their faults.

“Kill them both. They are useless vampires.” The King said with much authority.

After that, Lexus suddenly woke up with someone tapping his face. He rose and see Songnara beside him with such a worried expression.

“Are you okay? I saw you pursuing your lips and your brows knitted as you dreamt of things, probably you had a bad dream.” Songnara told Lexus worriedly, immediately, he thought that maybe it's a reminder that he shouldn't waste any more time, Lexus should now find the girl in the prophecy.

He didn't answer Songnara, but then, Lexus couldn't help himself for the fragrance of Songnara's blood is way too strong, he can't stop the hunger that he's feeling because of it. Before he could on her, he quickly took a knife and ran as fast as he could to the forest he didn't want Songnara to know about his real self.

His eyes wandered, in search of an animal, and when he saw a deer, swiftly, he instantly threw the knife that buried entirely on it's back. Lexus can't stop himself; it's like he's drinking blood for the first time, he then drank the deer's red juices like there's no tomorrow.

Once he finished, he wiped the blood that's left on his lips.

Weird, that's how he'll describe what he feels, even though he's already in the form of a human, he still feels a pang of hunger for blood, and if he doesn't stop this hunger of his then maybe the next time this happens, he'll go crazy on Songnara's blood. It looks like his search for the girl in the prophecy will become complicated if his hunger continues.

His teeth became the usual human teeth, and his fangs had disappeared. When he came back, Songnara welcomed him back with a kerosene lamp in her hand just to find him.

“Where did you go?” Songnara asked, shocked by what he did, Lexus didn't know what to answer.

When he didn't answer, Songnara talked once again, “Don't leave without warning, don't you know that the forest is scary, especially when you get lost in there? There's a lot of wild animals, ready to eat you.”

Lexus didn't give her any more attention and walked inside the house.

Good thing Lexus didn't smell her blood again, her blood's aroma is just way too strong for him.

He arrived with both of Songnara's grandparents, eating, while Songnara was just behind Lexus.

“It's good that you're nowhere, young man. Eat, the food is fish and egg.” He said to Lexus, immediately the older man gave him food and made him sit down.

Lexus isn't hungry, and he doesn't like to eat human food, he might not like the taste of it. The food here is also different, way more diverse than in the country that he lived in before.

Lexus was shocked when Songnara gave him a spoonful of a while fish, instantly, he choked on what she did, which made the three of them laugh at his choking face.

He sighed while they continued laughing, even with all his efforts upon ignoring Songnara, her struggles for him to notice her does reach Lexus, which Lexus doesn't like in a girl.

‘I would never like a girl like this.’ He said in his mind, assuring himself.

The older man then stood up, and he started to invite Lexus to walk around the hacienda, where Minay is working at.

“Come now, young man. It'll be better if we go to Minay early so that you surely bring their merch to the market.” The older man told him, right away, Lexus followed him outside.

As Lexus and the old man started to leave, Songnara shouted and joked as well, “Don't forget to come home for your children, okay?!”

Lexus' cheeks turned bright red, and it's not a good joke for he doesn't have any plans on having children with a mortal, it'll only put him in danger.

“Oh my, young man, Songnara is really like that. She's way too annoying and a joker as well, but she has a loving and kind heart.” The older man said as they continued walking.

They walked and rested for around ten minutes until they reached a place, it's a big house that if it's compared to the cottage that the older man lives in, then the size of the cabin is doubled to look like this house.

“That's the hacienda where Minay works, don't worry, young man, the ones who work here are kind, as well as the owner, Señora Celes. She's kind and a giver of blessings.” The older man assuring Lexus, after that, he loudly shouted, and a woman around the older man's age with a face looking like an ill-tempered one came out.

She looked at Lexus from head to toe and let them come in.

“Who's this that you're with, Iko?” She asked the older man that Lexus is with while wandering, and he immediately answered.

“Has someone took the position of a carrier? I will want this young man to take that position if that's okay.” Iko, the older man asked, the older woman then nodded, this is probably Minay that the older man is talking about.

“No one has taken it yet, but sure, leave him here and come back for him this afternoon when his job is done.” She answered the older man, Iko, which made the old man nod and say goodbye to Lexus.

“What's your name, young man?” The older woman, Minay, asked Lexus.

Only one had known his real name, and that's Songnara, it's better for him if he doesn't tell anyone else his real name for he won't stay long in this place.
