CHAPTER 3: PATRICK
––––––––
Patrick stared at Annie’s a*s as she hurried down the hallway toward Ethan’s office. It was firm but with a little jiggle. Oh yeah, he was going to tap that. Even though he’d caught her watching, she seemed somewhat innocent. He wouldn’t be surprised if she’d never done anal. The thought of being her first made his d**k press more firmly against his jeans, begging for release. He sighed as she stepped through the doorway and out of his sight.
“What were you doing out there?” asked Ethan. “I told you to wait here.”
Patrick slipped into the storage room in case Ethan looked in the hallway. Once again, she had him hiding like a scared little boy. She was going to pay for this too. Maybe, he’d s***k her a*s before he f****d her, or while he f****d her. If he didn’t stop thinking about this stuff he’d come in his pants, and he’d never live that down.
“I went to the bathroom,” snapped Annie. “Is that okay?”
Damn, she was a spitfire. His little voyeur might lose her job after all, but he’d help her. He had money. He could pay her for their time together.
“There’s a bathroom in my office.” Ethan’s voice moved farther away.
“I didn’t want to use it. It might upset you.”
“Why would that upset me?” Ethan sounded weary.
“Everything I do upsets you. Why would that be any different?”
Patrick stayed there a few moments longer. Ethan should be furious with her for speaking to him like that, but he wasn’t. Instead, his friend seemed resigned. Something was going on and he didn’t like it. He wanted Annie. He didn’t want to share her with Ethan.
“If you’d behave,” said Ethan.
“Behave! By whose standards?”
“Enough, Annie.” Ethan almost groaned. “Nick, go find Patrick. He should be here by now.”
Patrick slipped out of the supply room and jogged toward the elevator. Then, he turned and headed back toward the office.
Nick came into the hallway. “Ethan’s looking for you and he’s not in a good mood.”
“I thought you were avoiding this place,” he said.
Nick was one of his closest friends. He’d met him at La Petite Mort Club, and they’d had some great times, but now his friend was staying away from the Club because he was abstaining from s*x.
“I’m not going into the actual Club,” said Nick. “I thought I might be able to point out a few things to you. Ethan’s been doing this so long he’s forgotten what it’s like for us when we step in.”
“Thanks, but I’m pretty sure I can handle it.”
“Earlier today, you were begging me to watch the Club.” Nick sent him an odd look.
That was true. “You do usually manage the place for Ethan and—”
“You know, I can’t. Not now. I’m six weeks in and ten to go. I can’t chance being around here.”
“Is Sarah worth it? Four months of celibacy.” He’d fallen in love plenty of times, but he didn’t think he could’ve stopped having s*x for one hundred and twenty days.
“f**k yeah, she’s worth it. I mean, I wish Ethan would give me her phone number but you know him and his stupid, f*****g rules.” Nick ran his hand over his face. “It’s not easy.”
“But rules are rules.”
La Petite Mort Club had a lot of rules. They were in place to ensure everyone’s pleasure and safety. This rule wasn’t any different. Nick and Sarah had been in a timed-contract. When it was over, they could’ve signed another contract but instead they opted to wait. According to the rules, they had to wait four months and then if they still wanted to see each other, Ethan would give their contact information to the other party. They didn’t have to stay celibate for the four months and everyone had tried to explain that to Nick, but he’d insisted that he was going to return to Sarah with a clean conscience. Nick was head over heels for this girl and Patrick knew from experience that feeling like that always ended in heartbreak.
Nick smiled, his eyes gleaming. “And day one hundred and twenty one is going to be f*****g fabulous. We won’t come up for air for months.” He slapped Patrick on the shoulder. “Come on before Ethan gets more pissed. He should be done with his little maid problem by now.”
“What happened?” It was time to play dumb.
“Julie caught Annie getting off while watching a couple have sex.”
“Who’s Annie?” It wasn’t good that Nick sounded like he knew her. “And this is a s*x club with shows.”
“The problem is with who’s Annie.” Nick walked into the outer office and knocked on the door.
“Come in,” bellowed Ethan.
Annie stood in the center of the room, her dark eyes spitting fire at Ethan.
“That is Annie,” said Nick. “Annie Argotos.”
“No.” It was like a punch in the gut.
“Yep,” Nick grinned. “The little voyeur is Victor Argotos’ baby sister.”
“I’m not a child anymore but no one seems to see that,” she said.
“I’m not allowed to see that.” Nick sat on the couch. “It’s forbidden.”
Patrick stood in the doorway, unable to move. Vic had been in the marines with him and Ethan. They’d gone on many missions together. Too many. They were like brothers. The three of them had watched out for each other until Vic and Ethan had gone on a mission that’d ended badly. Vic hadn’t come back the same and a few years later, he’d disappeared. Vic may be gone but Patrick was honor bound to protect his friend’s family, not f**k his baby sister.
