“Who are you miss?” The guard in the front asked her and she froze in place. He didn’t seem to have bad intentions towards the woman, simply asking her of her intentions, however that wasn’t the way Adeline perceived the situation. In her mind this was nothing less than an outright threat and she felt it through her bones.
“I, I’m here to see… M-M-mister… La-rd… while…” She could barely speak as she did her best to communicate her intentions to the other person. The man standing in front of her was of huge built and she was only about half of his height. Adeline felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest from nervousness.
