“Bat.” The words stuck in my throat as I looked around me. The lights above our heads glittered like a thousand bright little stars, reflected in the still water of the dock. It was like stepping foot in some sort of wonderland. I had never felt so close to the heavens.
At my side, Bats hand closed around mine, warm and comforting.
“Bat it's beautiful.”
He didn’t answer me, his fingers squeeze my hand before he brought it up to his lips. Laying a kiss on the back of it. “Not as beautiful as you.”
His smile when I looked at him was dazzling in his tanned face. It hit me in a rush. Just how much I loved him. I had always known it of course but it still surprised me sometimes.
