Chapter Three - Opening Up

“Frank doesn’t like me very, much does he?” Stephan asked as he looked over at George. “Why would you think such a thing?” George didn’t look pleased with Stephan questing his beta, but he didn’t care. He couldn’t continue doing his thing if Frank didn’t like him. After all, one day he would become Alpha and if Frank wasn’t on board, then it could create problems. “How could I not? The way he speaks to me treats me as if I am just a child. Has he forgotten that I spent my whole life being trained to be the best and greatest Alpha? Have I not proved to you and him over the last three weeks that I am competent?” Stephan was getting angrier by the second. He had been trying to prove himself worthy since he arrived here. “Stephan,” George started. “No dad, I get it ok? I was taken away and raised by others that aren’t you and mom. My thoughts might be different, but the goal is the same. Do what is best for the pack, protect them at all costs. Everything you’ve been trying to show me these last few weeks is all the things I’ve been taught my whole life. It is the Alpha and his personality that is only different. I am not a bad wolf; I don’t have horrid thoughts. I was burned and I was burned badly, however, I realized my mistake and immediately apologized. What more do I have to do to prove to you wolves that I’m not some evil asshole trying to take over the world!” Stephan rushed out of the office. Upset. He had spent countless hours with his father and Frank. He had done everything and more. “Stan?” he stopped and turned to see Jewel standing at the top of the stairs. He sighed loudly as he waited for her to come down the steps. “Is everything alright?” she asked when she reached him. Instead of answering, he pulled her into his arms and breathed in her addicting scent. He felt the waves of calm rush through his body and he smiled. “Now, everything is alright,” he whispered as he nuzzled her neck. He heard her soft moan and gently stepped back. The s****l tension between them was electric. “Good, are you busy now?” she asked him quietly. He knew that he had been spending the hours with his father and Frank, he knew that in the evenings he spent maybe an hour with her before going to his room to sleep. He had been neglecting her. “No, I’m not, would you like to join me for a walk?” he looked at her and admired the way her soft blonde hair was tied up in a messy bun. She looked good enough to eat. “I’d love too,” she answered. Stephan took her hand and they made their way outside and walked lazily along the path through the field. The silence was not uncomfortable, and he truly enjoyed her company. “Is everything alright Stan?” she asked him again. As they entered the forest, he led her to his favorite tree. When he was spying on the pack, he would often hide out in the large oak tree. He sat down and gently tugged on her hand until she landed on his lap. Snuggling her against him, he slowly ran his hand up and down her back. “Honestly, no, everything is not alright,” he admitted. He knew that he could talk to her. He didn’t wait for her to push him. “I’m trying my best here, but I just feel like a failure. Frank doesn’t like me. Don’t they understand that I have been trained to understand the duties of an Alpha? Don’t they realize that I know how a pack works? Why do they think of me as a pup?” “Oh Stan, you’ve been working so hard to please them,” “No, I haven’t. I’ve been working hard to show them that I know what I am doing, that I know these things, yet Frank seemed to push me each day,” “Did you discuss this with your father?” “When I mentioned that Frank doesn’t like me, he asked how I could think such a thing. He wasn’t happy that I questioned his beta,” Stephan sighed in frustration as he hides his face in her neck. “Well, of course not, but he should still talk to you about it. One day you will be Alpha, what will Frank do then? You are his superior and he cannot disrespect you, what is your father thinking?” “Exactly my point,” he mumbled. “I know what I did was wrong,” he started to say, he could feel her wanting to push away from him so, he tightened his grip on her. “But everything before that, I was just me, training hard. But because of that one mistake, I’ve been judged,” “It wasn’t just one mistake Stan, you f****d up big time and you know that,” her voice was soft and strained and he knew it was a touchy subject for them to talk about. “I know how badly I messed up, Jewel. I can’t make excuses for my actions. I just wish everyone could see it from my point of view. I was kidnapped, taken from my rightful family. I had no idea and lived my whole life being trained by Michael. He wasn’t a bad alpha. Unconventional at times and greedy but other than that, he was a good father and a good Alpha. Mikaela might have made bad choices and hidden secrets, but she was still a mother to me. She read me bedtime stories, held me tight when I had bad dreams, looked after me, told me beautiful stories about love, romance, mates and so much more. My life was shaken up when the truth came out and even then, it wasn’t the real truth. She told me my parents threw me away, that I was not wanted. Do you have any idea how that feels?” he pulled back slightly to look at her. His eyes filled with unshed tears. “No, I don’t know how that feels,” she whispered as she ran her fingers over his arm. “It just frustrates me that no one understands how I felt, to be thrown away, to be banished, to learn that you have lived your whole life as a lie. When I first came here, I was going to confront them, did you know that?” “No,” “I wanted answers, I wanted to know why, why did they throw me away? Did they decide I wasn’t good enough and then I saw Sasha and how happy she was, mommy’s and daddy’s little girl. It hurt. In ways that I can never explain. So, I stayed back, I listened, and I learned about Emily and Felicity. My sisters had a good life. Loving and happy life. I was jealous. So unbelievably jealous. To me at that time, Mikaela’s words would be in my head. ‘We found you, they threw you away,’ The hate I started to feel. It was so bad, Jewel. I struggled so much,” the tears fell, and he didn’t bother to try and hide it from her. He wanted to be open with her, he wanted her to see his pain and understand it. He would never use it as an excuse, what he had done was bad. He knew it and accepted it for what it was. However, he wasn’t some evil wolf plotting revenge for the fun of it. He did it because he had been hurt. He had felt betrayed and that the life he should’ve had was thrown away. “After everything, I was beginning to think I was making a mistake, I got careless and I was caught. It was a relief actually although I wanted revenge, it was a relief to be placed in that dungeon. Finally, it was going to end, and I was so happy. Funny isn’t it? But I was happy it was over. Then Sasha told me the truth and then Andrea and George showed up and for the first time in my life, I felt it,” “What did you feel?” “Love, truth, happiness but unfortunately the biggest thing I felt was guilt. Guilty because of all the horrid things I had done, guilty because I had wanted to hurt those that hadn’t actually thrown me away and guilty that I hadn’t just confronted them as I had originally planned too. Because if I had, I would not be sitting here with you like this,” Stephan felt his heart clench and the tears flowed steadily as he released all the pent-up emotions. - Jewel was trying to wrap her mind around Stephan’s words. His confession. His emotions. She could feel his pain, his anguish and for the first time, she understood. His actions towards her brother, towards Sasha and towards their pack. For the first time, she didn’t hate him for the things he had done. She understood and she actually thought he was brave. She couldn’t imagine what it must have been like, she couldn’t imagine what he was telling her. Because it sounded so hard, so lonely and worse, it sounded like it was heart-breaking. That was when she knew that he was broken. He wasn’t a bad wolf; he was a wolf who had been hurt and didn’t know how to deal with it. He was crying and letting out all the emotions that he had probably been hiding and holding in. Jewel wrapped her arms around him and settled herself a lot more comfortably on his lap as she rocked him gently against her. “Sshh,” she whispered against his forehead. She felt his pain and it hurt her. She had her own demons and yet, she felt that they were nothing in comparison to what he felt. Slowly he seemed to calm himself down and his steady crying turned into small sobs and hiccups. She gently rubbed his back trying to soothe him. When the sobs and sniffles stopped, she continued to hold him, to comfort him and the heat slowly started to return. She felt the shift, not only in him but in herself. Jewel pulled back, just enough to cup his face and press her lips softly against his. She could taste the saltiness from his tears, and she groaned out softly in pain. Stephan wrapped his arms around her tighter, pulling her roughly against his chest as he deepened the kiss. Jewel had no objections with him taking control and dominating her. She loved it. She felt his tongue against her lips and immediately parted for him. Soon his tongue touched hers and their moans were feverish with need. Jewel could feel his hardness pressing against her thigh and she moved slowly, grinding against him. Her own need was overwhelming, and she could feel her wetness soak her panties. Stephan broke the kiss but didn’t stop as he left a sloppy wet trail from her lips to her cheek, lower still passing her jaw and finally latching onto her neck. Jewel moaned loudly as he sucked on that sensitive spot that she offered to him by slightly tilting her neck to the side. Her hands rest on his shoulders and she gripped him tightly as the desire to be one took over. She moved harder against him as she felt him pushing up. Somehow, she had been turned and was now straddling him and she could feel his powerful erection brush hard against her core. Through their clothing, she could still feel his heat. Stephan moved from her neck to her chest. Jewel hurriedly unbuttoned the buttons of the cream-colored princess vest she wore. Stephan pulled away to gaze down at the top of her plump breasts, which was hidden by the white lace bra she still wore. Jewel smiled seductively at him as she reached behind her to unclasp the bra and shrugged it off. Stephan hesitated for a split second before his hands moved to cup her heavy breasts. She let out a small moan as his thumbs brushed against her tight n*****s. “Beautiful,” she heard him whispered and she groaned out as he leaned down to flick his tongue against her. Arching her back, she pushed against his mouth and ground harder against him. There was nothing else on her mind except the feeling that he was creating with his tongue and lips. The need was so strong that she could do nothing else but give in. “Stan,” she breathed out as she felt the heat rush through her body, making her shiver with delight. It was a feeling unbeknown to her and she blushed despite it all. “Jewel, stop,” Stephan groaned as he hugged her nakedness against his chest, his face now buried against her neck. “Slow down, please,” he softly begged her, but Jewel was too far gone, grinding harder and faster against him, chasing something she didn’t quite understand but needed desperately. When it hit her, she cried out in pure pleasure, her body shaking as her toes curled in the soft ballet shoes she still had on. She held onto him tightly as her breathing eventually slowed down and her heartbeat returned back to normal. Now embarrassed with her actions, she pushed away from him, standing up and turning her back to him as she hurriedly put her bra back on with her top. Her cheeks flushed not only from her o****m but also from her embarrassment. She couldn’t believe she had just done that. “Believe it,” Jam’s voice boomed, and Jewel rolled her eyes. “Jewel,” Stephan wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and she could feel that he was still hard as he snuggled her affectionately. “I have never seen anything so erotic in my life, so perfect, watching you was a gift, thank you,” she blushed at his words and she no longer felt mortified. She turned in his arms and tenderly kissed his lips. “I am sorry I couldn’t stop,” she admitted, he chuckled softly as he gazed down in her eyes. “I am glad you didn’t, the sight was one I will never forget,” he told her. She wished they could take things further, she wished to help him, but the moment was gone and the urge to be back at the house was strong. “The time will come, just not yet,” he said, almost as if he knew what she was thinking, he slipped his hand in hers and led her back along the path to the house. When she could see the house up ahead, she wanted to run and hide but forced herself to stop and turn to him. “Stephan, thank you and I want you to know I heard everything you said, and I appreciate you opening up to me, it means a lot to me. I also want you to know that I am here for you, always,” she made the promise to him and he smiled at her in such a way that her heart leaped for joy. He nodded and they continued towards the house. Regret filled her mind as they entered and went their separate ways. She stood watching him as he headed in the direction of the office and when he was out of sight, she hurried upstairs to take a shower. He had shared his thoughts and feelings with her, and she hadn’t done the same. Although the moment had not really presented itself, she now wished she had let him in her mind. Let him see her pain as well as her past. “In time,” she told herself. - Stephan entered the office to find Frank and his father having a discussion. “Am I interrupting?” he asked casually. “No, come take a seat son,” George told him. Stephan gratefully sat down and wondered how to approach the subject. “Frank and I were talking, and I think you may have overreacted a bit,” his father’s words angered him but instead of arguing, he tilted his head to the side and looked at Frank. “Oh? How so?” “I don’t want you to think I don’t like you because it isn’t like that. My main priority is your father, our Alpha and this pack. When George told me, he wanted to see what you’ve got, I pushed you and I pushed you hard. I wanted to see what you were made of. In fact, I was coming here today to inform him that I find you are more than capable of being our Alpha and how well you were doing. However, he informed me that you feel I don’t like you, and I want to set the record straight. I don’t have to like you, but I do. I don’t have to cater to your cries as I feel it is misplaced, but I do want you to know that I respect you and honor you for showing, no, for proving to us that you are worthy. You have always been worthy, and I apologize if my actions have been unjustified and wrong,” Frank spoke easily and without hesitation. Stephan searched his eyes and found Frank to be sincere. “I appreciate your words, as for you catering to my cries, well, you needn’t fear I shall never cry to you or to my father again. I was simply voicing my thoughts and since this is what I get in return I shall learn to shut up and not say anything. This may seem childish to you, to both of you,” he turned to look at George. “But you should clearly keep in mind that I was raised to speak my mind otherwise a build-up could be explosive, good day Frank, good day father,” Stephan stood and left the office. He wasn’t angry, he was disappointed. He sought out his mother, who he found in the kitchen preparing dinner. “Oh Stephan,” she said surprised when she turned around to see him standing there. “Sorry mom, I didn’t mean to startle you,” “It’s alright dear, is everything ok?” she asked as she continued peeling potatoes. “Sure, everything is just peachy,” “Oh, peachy, well then, I think it is good that I made a peach pie for dessert,” Stephan burst out laughing and went towards her. “You are full of fun, aren’t you mom?” he teased as he leaned over and kissed her cheek. “If you say so, son,” she teased back. Stephan chuckled as he left the kitchen and made his way to his bedroom. He paused outside of Jewel’s room and smiled. Remembering the moment, they shared under his favorite tree had him achingly hard and he rushed to his room to take a much needed cold shower.
