Chapter 4 Derek Scott knew from a young age he was different. His siblings, all seven of them, were focused on academics and sports, on being the best they could possibly be. Derek didn’t care about any of that. He did fine in school, and the rest was not something he worried about. All he wanted was to take care of everyone around him, to make sure they were happy and safe and fed.
