Mrs. Smith Submission I didn’t have a bad life. At least, not until my future barged through the door. And, even then, with the advantage of hindsight, I still did well. Even if I was blindfolded, gagged and tied up most of the time. I had been married a little over two years, young and full of puppy love for my equally naïve husband. One thing we both wanted was not to get caught up in the rat race, so when a “sure thing” investment presented itself, I was only too eager to hand over my middling inheritance and write my name on the dotted line as co-signer for my husband’s part of the venture. I didn’t even glance at the contract. Just a few weeks, my husband told me, and we would be well on our way to Easy Street. A few weeks turned into several months, then came the wolf at the door.
