Chapter 5Seamus wasn’t the only one to gasp. As he looked around the circle, he saw faces full of joy or surprise, and in many cases, both. “It worked!” a tall woman said, rushing toward Seamus. Seamus guessed that the woman was middle-aged. Although she had run toward him, when she reached him, she stopped, standing directly in front of him and staring. Seamus reached up to wipe the mud from his face, staring back at the woman. Suddenly, she reached over and ran her finger across his bicep, wiping the mud off where her finger traced. “He’s flesh and blood he is,” the woman said, looking away from Seamus and to the group. “This isn’t some talking mud doll.
