Alpha Ren - POV
I slumped behind the desk, my body feeling sluggish after the rejection of my mate, which destabilized my wolf strengths. Fortunately, Owen found me and called the healers to stabilize my energy.
He managed to keep my health a secret from my mother and Abigail, as they would have forced me to reject my mate, as my mother wanted Abigail to be my Luna. However, my father is against it, wanting me to find my destined mate. He will announce the Luna selection ceremony if I don't meet one.
Should I confess to my father about my fate? I don't know why I need to keep this secret from everyone. Revealing it would expose Larissa to unknown danger, but the Fae Princess is already aware of it. Before anything else, I needed to ask Larissa why she wanted to reject me.
Could it be the rumors of me being a Playboy that reached her ears or the merciless way I killed my enemies that scared her?
I stared at myself in the mirror, wondering if I looked handsome, and remembered the way Larissa's gaze lingered and admired me.
"Narcissistic much?" Dom growled.
"It's called self-confidence," I snapped back, and Dom sighed.
"How about we find a mate instead of sitting on our asses behind this paperwork?" Dom argued, and I felt the same way. Sitting and waiting for a spy was boring. I don't know why meeting Larissa is so exciting. I thought no woman could have such an effect on me, but here I am, wanting her back and making her mine.
"Son, where are you going?" My father's stern voice stopped me in my tracks.
"I am not a child that I have to answer to you." My father's gaze studied me, and then he turned in fury at my remark.
"Have you found your mate?" he asked. The question stunned me, but I held a poker face and did not let my father read my expression.
"Not yet, Father. You know the curse our ancestors bestowed upon us for not finding a mate," I added coolly. My father and mother are not fated mates because our pack has been cursed for a long time. My father arranged a marriage with my mother, Rosa, who is also from the Dark Forest Pack.
"You know I received a letter from the Moon Goddess shrine for you. I hope you read it." He gave me the white envelope and left without adding any lectures, as he always does. What is going on with my father? I wonder, staring at his back as he walks inside the mansion.
I walked to a secluded place to read the letter. "Alpha Ren, my chosen child, I bless your wolf with a mate, Larissa Newt. She will assist you in breaking the curse of the Blue Mist Pack, and all wolves and she-wolves can find their mate. All wolves of your land will have immense power that no one can harm. But remember, your own family will kill your mate. Protector, you only have six months. If you fail, your mate will disappear forever. Make sure you succeed this time. I won't reverse time again for you, Alpha Ren. You have to stop the destruction that follows." The letter disappeared, and fear gripped my heart. I understood that my instincts were right to keep the secret about my mate from my family. But Owen is aware, and if he tells others about her, Larissa is in danger.
What does the Moon Goddess mean by reversing time? I stood motionless, overwhelmed with terror and confusion at the message from the Moon Goddess.

Harlery - POV - {Larissa}
Her eyes lingered on my name tag, and I gulped. "Umm, Larissa," I stammered. "Interesting name. What is your last name?"
"Gomes," I added, lying. Thanks to my disguise, she didn't recognize me. Abigail's irritated stares worried me. What if my disguise faded away? She might try to kill me. The thought was suffocating, but I tried to act normal around her.
"Are you listening to me or what?" Abigail hissed.
"I am sorry. Can you tell me what the problem is?" I inquired while wearing gloves.
"I think I have s******s," she said shamelessly, and I didn't react. Of course, Alpha Ren was the reason; he was a playboy who caused her to get herpes.
"You need to take this medication and avoid s****l activity with your partner," I added with a sour taste, using magic to heal her.
"Then I don't have to see my boyfriends," she muttered, but it was too late to take her words back.
"Doctor, how about you being my healer? I can pay you more than your current salary. Your healing power has already healed me, unlike other healers," Abigail added.
"Thank you for the offer, Ms. Firewall. I am happy where I am," I replied. She stared at me wickedly for a few seconds, but it disappeared.
"You work for the Fae princess, Rachel," Abigail asked.
"The clinic has a branded mark. Didn't you notice?" I retorted with a sharp tone. She looked taken aback by my remark but still held a hostile stance, which annoyed me.
"Why is a rogue wolf working for filthy women like her? Don't you know she killed her parents and mate to become the only powerful princess?" Wait, did Rachel murder her own family for power?
"It doesn't matter who I work for; my answer is still no. How about you take this medicine and leave?" I said sternly.
"What an annoying b***h you are! Do you know I am Alpha Eric, the Dark Forest Princess and soon-to-be the Luna of the Blue Mist pack? You don't have to be a rogue wolf anymore," she added with a haughty air as if she were doing me a favor.
"I decline the offer," I replied coolly. Abigail's rage grew, but she couldn't attack me because touching Fae workers might get her in trouble with Rachel. Abigail stomped out of the clinic, yelling profanity. I sighed and settled back in my chair as the day ended. I walked home to see Reynold teleporting with a backpack. He had a uniform coated with blood.
"Where are you coming from?" I inquired, the smell of blood lingering around him. I knew it wasn't Reynold's blood but someone else's. Reynold's face was pallid as if he didn't want me to see him in this state.
