The Party

~ Athena’s POV ~

Ash walked closer towards me and I just took a few steps away from him. I don’t want this guy to touch me. I don’t want to remember the time when he used to crush my feet and arms under his foot and whenever he saw my blood, a satisfied smile appeared on both the twin faces. There was even a time when he ordered me to help his Beta in the bathtub. My so-called family and the only person I loved left a deep scar on my soul which is surely quite difficult to heal. Enzo and Fiona even tried to flush my head in the toilet.

Hate is a small word for what I feel for them. I am tired of being a kind person, I am tired of letting people step on me, I am tired of them looking down on me. What did I do wrong to receive that kind of treatment in the packhouse?

Nothing.

I did nothing.

If I do kill them, then will the moon goddess become disappointed with me? Well, she did give me this chance to give them the taste of their own medicine. I will only be kind to those who deserve to be treated that way and, other than that, I am going to show their position to them in front of me.

Ash tried to touch my neck and I just gritted my teeth.

“What are you all doing in Athena’s room? I did tell you about the party, right? Everyone goes back into their rooms to get ready”, said my dear uncle Elon, while he entered the room with a smirk on his face.

Everyone immediately vacated my room after his arrival and now I was standing alone with him in my room. He just gently smiled at me while he tried to caress my head, but I just took one step away from him.

Why is he showing his fake concern for me? I did think of him as my father. I thought that, as my father’s younger brother, he would stand by my side and protect me until I settled down with my mate, but everything was a facade. His care for me, his encouraging words and his concern. I will only be at peace when I have my revenge on those who have hurt me.

“What happened, Athy? Do you want me to cancel this party? Are you not feeling well? You can always tell your uncle if you are going through something. You do know that uncle is always worried about you, right?”, he asked me while trying to keep his hand on my shoulder.

I just shook my head and he then told me to get ready as he wanted me to meet someone special and I just smiled. I know that he wants me to meet a man who is a psychopath. He can do better than this, but I shouldn’t have any sort of expectations from this old bastard. The one who is behind this plotting is surely Ryan, as he came to my rescue when that guy tried to attack me. Well, now it’s time to make some difference to that dead party.

He then took his leave and I just sighed in relief while I closed the door.

“Let’s get ready. This is going to be my birthday party, so I should look my best, right?”, I mumbled to myself, and then I immediately headed to take a warm shower.

After taking a quick shower, I walked towards my closet and pulled out an A-line off-shoulder dark blue gown. This is what my mother bought for me. She wanted me to wear this on my eighteenth birthday, but I completely forgot about this because of those bastards. I put on the gown and looked at my reflection in the mirror.

“It looks kind of nice on me”, I mumbled to myself while my eyes were fixated on the mirror. For once, I am not disheartened to see my reflection. There was a time when I didn’t want to look in the mirror because of my bruised and swollen face, but now things are not the same, I am not the same old Athena.

I put on my mother’s heels with a bright smile on my face while I slid my fingers on the strap of the heels. When I was twelve, she used to scold me for wearing her heels and using her makeup, but now there is no one to scold me.

I can’t believe that I am missing the time when she used to correct me or scold me in front of the pack members. My parents used to bicker a lot, but in a funny way. As my mother wanted me to learn more about the household chores, she used to tell me to focus on my studies while my father wanted me to lead the pack as the Alpha. He wanted to train me, he wanted me to become strong and independent for myself and my pack.

I let my hair down and then I brushed it with the hairbrush. My hair is naturally straight, so I didn’t need to style it. I applied a little tint to my cheeks and lips.

After checking my appearance for one last time in the mirror, I finally turned to head downstairs.

“Oh, she is here”, exclaimed Fiona in an excited tone while everyone gazed at me. I kept my hand on the railing of the staircase. Everyone present at this party is only here to mock me. They wanted to look down on me, but let’s see how they will fulfil this wishful thinking of theirs.

Some people gasped in shock to look at me and some were looking at me with hatred filled in their eyes and Fiona was one of them.

She must be feeling like an i***t to wear my old gown. Well, I don’t pity her at all as she deserves to feel humiliated for what she did to me.

I walked downstairs and I just smiled at everyone. I walked straight towards the main hall where everyone was waiting to meet the mute daughter of the ex-Alpha.

“You are finally here, Athy. Why didn’t you wear contact lenses, huh? Didn’t you tell me to buy those for you as you didn’t want anyone to feel scared of you or address you as the silver-eyed monster, huh? You can go and wear those and I will take care of the party in your absence.

Oh, I also asked the chancellor of your academy to attend the party. I will ask him to remove your name from the academy as you are scared to study in that crowded place. I have already asked for a private tutor who will help you with completing your education. Go and wear the contact lenses which will make you look a little normal and not a monster”, uncle Elon told me with a broad smile on his face while he tried to force me back to my room.

He is intentionally trying to force me to wear contact lenses as he is afraid that the elders will not agree with his suggestion to make Ash the next Alpha of the pack.

I always thought that these silver eyes were my weakness, but now I will use them for my benefit. I only smirked at him while he headed towards the stage to make the announcement.

“I am glad that you are all gathered here, so there is an announcement that I need to make. As you are all aware, my niece is not only wolfless, but she is also mute. So, as her uncle and the Alpha, I have decided to fix her marriage with my friend’s son. I hope that elders don’t have any problems with this relationship, as I know that her life will only get harder without a mate by her side. There is one more announcement that I would like to make on Athena’s birthday. I have decided to pass my position to...” before he could complete his words, I walked towards the stage while he gazed at me with a confused look on his face.

I faced the crowd with a smile while everyone's gaze was fixed on me.

“Who told you that I am a mute person, uncle? Can’t you hear my voice? I think the one who has a problem here is you and not me. Well, as the daughter of the ex-Alpha, I, Athena Connor, reject the proposal that you have brought for me. You see, I am not an object. I might be wolfless, but I still have the blood of Alpha running in my veins. Let’s enjoy the party as this is my birthday party”, I announced in a loud and clear voice while everyone looked at me with a stunned expression on their faces. Well, a few people’s faces even turned pale after hearing me and some were even trembling in anger.

My uncle was shocked to his core as he was not even able to say a single word to me. I embraced him in front of me and the other packs while I gently whispered in his ear, “Aren’t you happy for your niece, uncle Elon? You must have waited for this day, right? My marriage is my business, so stop poking your nose into my private matters so as to remove my name from the academy. You don’t have the right to do such a thing. My parents wanted me to complete my studies and it’s my duty as their daughter to fulfil all their wishes, so just stop meddling in my affairs, uncle.”

I walked away from him while I walked through the crowd as they wanted to congratulate me on my birthday or more, like confirm one more time that they heard me speaking. Well, I know that they just want to form a relationship with me, so that they could win my heart, as after marrying me they could become the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. My eyes then fell on the nameless omega girl who was wearing the dress that I had gifted her. There were a few guys who were trying to bully her, so I just walked in their direction with my eyes filled with rage.

Ash, Enzo and Fiona tried to stop me as they wanted to talk with me, but I just ignored them as I seriously didn’t want to ruin my mood. I know that deep inside they have already started to plan against me. Fiona must be strangling me inside her head. Well, I can deal with them later.

“Come on, don’t be a spoilsport. I assure you that even you will have fun with us and, as an omega, you are born to satisfy us. We are mateless and you must make us feel good in bed. Well, we can have a threesome or we can f**k you one by one. This is something that I am letting you decide, so you should feel quite grateful”, asserted the guy in a disgusted tone while he was trying to grab that girl from behind.

That’s what I hate about such people. They are worthless yet they try to put someone down.

“I didn’t know that uncle had also invited jerks and lowlifes to my party”, I told them, while I looked at them with a smile on my face.

They gazed at one another and, after that, they let go of the girl. I didn’t know that threatening such people would be so easy. The girl limped towards me and I glanced at her feet.

It was covered in blisters and wounds.

“Who dared to harm her?”, I asked them calmly and those guys just laughed while looking at me.

“I did. So, what are you going to do with me, huh? Just because you got your voice back, that doesn’t mean you also got the strength to fight with us. You can do nothing, love”, one of the guys came forward while he tried to touch me with his filthy hands. I have enough with all their bullshit. I am not going to bow down my head in front of anyone.

He tried to slide his fingers on my left arm, so I just slapped him hard across his face while I stepped on his foot with my heel. The music was quite loud and even the lights were kind of dim, so no one noticed my actions.

“Now, you will understand her pain”, I told him in a cold voice while I crushed his foot under my heels. The guy only winced in pain while I applied more strength to my heels.

I have already taken my first step against those people and now nobody can come between me and my goals.

Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice coming from behind, “I have finally found you, little one.”

I turned to see that person confirm my doubts and, even in the dim lights, I was able to see his azure eyes which were intensely gazing at me. We glanced at each other for quite a long time and I don’t know why, but whenever I look into his eyes, I just forget about my surroundings.

What the hell is he doing here?
