Chapter two shifting in 30 seconds

As the day went on, she noticed to were bears trying to shift out in the field, she didn't want to disturb them, so she set on the porch to watch, another joined it was Hannah, she is trying to show them, then came the rest of the trainees, she listened with her wolf ears, as Hannah was trying to get them to shift faster, "Come on guys," "we are in this together remember," we need to practice now on the count on three keys shift together. Let's show her we can do this, one..two...three... And pl be damn in the thirty seconds she counted all of them shifted, in the thirty seconds mark, she was proud, she jumped off the porch heading toward the group, smiling as she approached them, 

congratulations you have done it. I'm proud of all of y'all, "Show me again, show me I wasn't just seeing things, they nodded, Hannah smiled wide, ok guys, let's show her, one...two...three let's shift, everyone shifted at the same time, and ol be damn they but the thirty seconds mark, "Very good" so you guys don't have to be up at five in the morning. Try six, have your boots on and ready to battle, tomorrow I'll teach you to watch for signals on when someone is about to attack, and how to hide those signals, they nodded now go rest, you deserve it, and Hannah can you stay for a few minutes, she nodded to the rest as she watched them leave, turning to Star, she had a worried look on her face, Star have her a friendly smile. 

"There's no need to be worried," but... I'm... Not worried, Star chuckled, "oh but you are Hannah, you need to work on your facial expressions, I'll help you work on that soon, you will need that when ever or if you ever get interrogated, Hannah nodded, "I asked for your big of time to talk with you, "Why do you really want to become a warrior?" And don't give me a bunch of crock about protecting the pack, it sounds rehearsed, Hannah sighed, because my parents calls me weak, says I'm a weakling and I'll be thrown out of the pack or made a slave if I don't become stronger, Star looked confused, I do not ever recall my father ever telling me that him and my mother ever throwing anyone out if they were weak, And what I have saw so far. The only things you have to work on, is how you move and your facial expressions, and how to fight, if you was weak, you would had never learned to shift so fast, "So if your really determined to be a pack warrior, do it for yourself not them, Hannah nodded,

"I want to do this for myself not them," "Good now all you have to do now is just show me, and one more thing Hannah,once when you become a warrior I want you to be my right hand man, you know how to get these guys going, and give them hope, that's what I want to see in all these warriors, now go get some rest you deserve it, she watched Hannah walk off to wherever she's heading to, probably to hang out with her friends, she decided she was going in to take a long hot bath, but once when she got into the house, she heard her father calling for her,  knocking on his office door. He said come in Star, opening the door slowly, her father Seth got out of his seat, walking to her, his bright hazel green eyes stayed on hers, 

I need to discuss something with you, it's going to be really hard right now, so please sit down, not liking the sound of her father's voice. She could tell something is really wrong, she could feel it all day, but she kept brushing it off, she heard her father's voice, but couldn't comprehend anything, he snapped his fingers, Star please listen, if you don't hear this from me now, then if you hear it from someone else it's going to be a lot harder, her heart was thumping fast, it felt like it was going to beat out of her chest, she felt like she already knew what was going on, but she wanted her father to tell her. Tears were already coming down from her eyes, tell me father, I already feel the whole in my heart, but I need to hear the words, sighing as he to wax crying, he kneeled down in front of her, clutching her hands in hers, 

"Your brother and his wife was on his way here to see us,"He jumped surrounded by rogues, he fought off as many as he could, they killed his wife, then him, the Alpha called a few minutes ago telling me, he wanted to tell us I was going to be. Grandfather, and you was going to be a aunt,  she was shaking her head, wanting to un hear what was just told to her, not only her mother had died giving birth to her her brother died as well as his wife, and child, she wanted to scream, but something was wrong, her body was hurting all over. She started to shift but not into her wolf but into her bear, Seth's eyes were huge looking up at the giant black bear, he used his Alpha tone, I demand you shift back now, the bear nodded obeying the Alpha, she shifted back as Star laid on the floor crying, she didn't know she could shift into a bear, it was weird how her body felt, her father picked her up, "your mother was always right, she told me you would be half wolf half bear, but I wouldn't listen, he put a blanket over her, taking her to her room, take your time my sweet daughter, tomorrow will be his burial, she waited for him to leave, as she fell to the floor clutching her mother's photo crying as hard as she could. When she was done, she walked to the tub turn the water on and got in, she laid in the tub for awhile tears kept coming down, whispering what's next her father, when she was done soaking, she took a bath getting out and laying down on her queen size bed, looking up at the light been ceiling, she wanted that color, most girls would want purple or pink, but Star wasn't like most girls, she wanted light green on her ceiling, 

She had photos on her walls of her family. A framed diploma when she graduated from high school, ribbons when she won rewards, she done what her mother had asked, be strong make her proud, and everyday she made her mother proud of her, she flipped on her stomach, as she tried to call asleep, tomorrow is the burial of her brother and wife, now it's only her and her father, she will make damn sure they lived on, may she could find someone for her father, but she didn't want to make him mad, he did say, no one else, sighing as she had to force her eyes shut and make her self fall asleep, the next day was a dreadful day, the River side pack came to mourn there Alphas daughter as our pack the North Gator pack mourned my brother, they put them side by side, as my father believed the spirit will return to another form, I believe once your gone your gone, but I won't tell my father this, as the logs  surrounded then, I took one torch Alpha james took the other, and together the logs were set on fire, I stood as I watched my brother and his wife and baby burn to a crisp, that day, I swore no one else would die at the hands of filthy rogues, when there was nothing left to salvage they kneeled tongue ground shifted and howled into the sky, they howled so loud, that it scared the humans, they ran into their houses locking the doors, the last time this happen was many years ago, they never knew why the howling was loud, but it sounded like they were mourning, 

Star was shifting back when she smelled the scent, she knew what it was, and before he could catch her scent she ran into the house, and sprayed herself down, so her scent would be hidden, "No she whispered, no one will take me from my pack or my father, I won't let the bond force me to submit, no way in hell
