Strange Place
Five: Molly
I don’t know where I am now. I haven’t seen the hallway of doors in a while. I feel like I’m just floating waiting for someone to pluck me out of the air in front of them. You know like how we used to catch fireflies in glass jars when we were kids. One good thing is I don’t feel pain anymore. Maybe I finally got my wish. Maybe I am dead and don’t have to worry about facing my victims. All of a sudden, I feel tingles running up and down the right side of my body. They feel so nice and comforting that my whole body starts to relax. Next, I feel like something warm and sticky is pressed against my mouth. Almost like I’m feeding but that’s impossible since I’m the only one here. A warming sensation starts to spread though out my body. For once in my life the feeling of total contentment settles over me. I feel myself drifting off to a healing sleep.
Next thing I know I am woken up by two women arguing in my room. I realize one of the voices are Avia’s but I don’t recognize the other voice. I blink my eyes and wiggle my fingers and toes. Am I back to reality? I must be I take a deep breath through my nose. I try to cover my nose from the rancid smell and notice that I can’t move. All I can think is f**k me, now who has me tied down. I try to stay quiet because I have no clue where I’m at and I don’t want anyone attention on me right now. The arguing has finally stopped. Which catches my attention. I strain my ears to hear every little noise. I hear a cell door screeching open and slamming shut. Keys inserted into the lock turning it. Then at least two sets of feet shuffling away.
I open my eyes and take a look around. I’m on some kind of operating table. It’s metal with restraints on my ankles, wrists, and head. I am completely laying down on and can only move my head from side to side. I turn to my right and I see the wall right next to me. When I look to the left, I see Avia standing there starting straight ahead to where I expect the door is. She looks drained and a little bigger than the last time I seen her. Like she has gained weight but still looks sickly. I whisper “Avia” and I see her head snap towards me.
“Avia where are we and why do I feel so weak?” She comes rushing over to me. Grabbing something that is down on the floor then next thing I know is I feel warmth on my face. Oh, it feels so good. She is wiping my face off with a warm rag. “I don’t know where we are but we have been here for a while now. I’m just happy you are finally awake and lucid.” I try to comprehend what she is telling me. “Do you know why I feel so funny?” Avia stops and looks at me. “What do you mean you feel funny? Explain it to me.” I try to wiggle around a little but not getting very far. “I feel like someone has scrapped my insides in my lower abdomen. My whole body feels like I have not been able to move in forever. I’m a supernatural though. Even if I get hurt, I should heal within a couple of minutes to an hour.”
I see the look of worry come over Avia’s face. “Molly even before we were kidnapped…… You were in a coma for a month.” She sighs. “Avia, what do you mean before we were kidnapped? Last thing I remember is…….” I feel a tear run down the side of my face. “River.” I whisper. “He rejected me without even giving me a chance to say a word.” I see Avia looking at me. “Molly, a lot has happened that you don’t know about. One thing you should know is that River was at you’re bedside every day and refused to leave you.” I look at her not believing a word she is saying. “Why would he do that? He despises me even before when we first met, he wouldn’t even say hello to me.” I hear Avia sigh as she continues to clean me up.
“Anyway, I don’t know what exactly they have been doing to you here. I do know that they have been injecting you with something every time they come in here. Every couple of day they take you away and when they bring you back.” I feel her shake in revulsion. “When they bring you back. You are covered in blood everywhere. I have been trying to keep you clean.” She is out of my sight. I wish I could grab her and hug her. She is such a forgiving and caring person. She will be a great Luna and mother. “Avia…… Avia.” She comes back into my line of sight. “hmmmmm” I try to give her a smile not knowing if my mouth is cooperating with me. “I just want to thank you. No matter our past you have been there for me. So, thank you. You have become more than a friend but family to me.” I start to feel very tried. “Thank you.” I whisper as I embrace the darkness surrounding me.
Next when I open my eyes, I’m in a very bright white room. I move my head and realize that it’s not strapped down anymore. I roll my head as much as possible. Oh Goddess, it feels wonderful to be able to move my head and work the kinks out of my neck. All of a sudden, I look down and notice my legs are spread wide apart up in stirrups. “What the hell.” I say out loud and feel a sharp pain inside of me. “What the hell are you doing in-between my legs.” I shout angerly. All of a sudden, a man’s head pops up from in-between my legs. “What I’m doing is none of your concern.” I look at him in disbelief as he stands and walks over to a table. “What do you mean it’s none of my business. This is my body not your plaything.” I’m shooting daggers at him from my eyes. He picks something up and walks back over to me. With an evil look in his eye, he flatly states. “You are no one.” As he sticks a needle into my arm. “You will not break me.” I say as I feel the darkness consuming me again. I think I heard him say something like. “I hope not.”
I am back in the floating state again. Goddess, when will I be let out of this place for good? I don’t want to be here anymore. I would even take that stupid hallway full of doors than to be stuck in the endless nothing. I close my eyes and sigh. For some reason what Avia told me comes back to me. He was at my bedside the whole time I was in a coma. I can’t help but to smile a little. If that is true than maybe we do have a chance. I want a chance with him. If we can work out our differences maybe we could actually have a happy life together. I wonder what it would feel like to have him actually have a conversation with him instead of him just grunting at me. The smile on my face gets wider.
I feel another sharp pain go through me. What in the hell is that man doing to me? It has to be something horrible and unthinkable. There is no reason for a doctor to be down in my lady parts. I want to rip him to pieces. If I ever get free, I’m going to kill each one of these assholes. Wait if I have been out for a month before being taken. s**t I’ve reached my maturity. That has to be why I went into stasis. I wasn’t in a coma but in stasis while my vampire side matured. Also meeting my Soul-Mate can also throw me into it. Oh, this is not good, not good at all.
I feel blood dripping into my mouth. I blink my eyes open and want to cough it up. It tasted old, stale, and cold. I can tell it most defiantly is not from my mate but from a blood relative. Which confuses me as I don’t have any blood family but my mom and I can’t drink her blood, this is vampire blood. I blink my eyes a couple of times trying to focus my eyes. When finally, I can focus I see a female dressed in a nurse’s uniform. She notices I’m awake. “Good your awake, you can feed yourself.” She pulls the bag away from my mouth and I spit all that I can hitting her chin and front of her white uniform. “When I get out of here, I’m going to enjoy ripping you to shreds.” I must have really scared her. She jumped up dropping the bag of blood and went running out of the cell. I sighed in relief of not having her close to me.
I hear chuckling coming from Avia’s side of the cell. I look over to her noticing my head is still free from the restraints. She comes towards me bending over picking up the bag of blood. “Did that make you feel better.” I smiled at her. “In this place I have to do what I can to make me happy.” Avia smiled at me and stuck the straw back into the bag. I have no idea where she got it from but am happy to use it. She brings it to my mouth and I start drinking it down. It turns my stomach but I have to deal with it if I want to live.
“You know your eyes glowed a bright blue when you threaten the nurse.” She looks me in the eyes. “Do you know why that happened?” I finish feeding, smacking my lips. “Could I have some water or something to wash that nasty taste out of my mouth.” Avia nods her head walking away from me. I hear water faucet being turned on. “I don’t know why my eyes glowed. It could have something to do with me reaching my maturity or because I’m a Hybrid. I just don’t know. There is not much information on Hybrids since I’m the only one born in over five hundred years.” She comes back with water for me. She leans down as I’m drinking my water and whispers in my ear. “Emerson has made contact with me. They are going to come for us soon.”
