The “Pit” was the underground cave, the “Maze” was the hunting grounds and the “Hunt” was the Hunter and Runner.
The cave was just as big as the C rank quarters cave. Its arrangement was like a giant stadium with seats for spectators and a flat, squared stage in the center, a kilometer in length and width.
The stage held the Maze formation, which once activated even Heavenly Immortals will have to exert themselves to forcefully break out of. To directly see the happenings in the Maze, one had to be either a Hunter or Runner. Spectators, and basically anyone outside, could only watch via a projection above the stage.
Bored C rank prisoners could pay the fee to watch the hunt or participant in one themselves, if they have the capital.
