CHAPTER NINETEEN Drake stood next to the storm window protecting his office from the driving rain and hurricane-force winds that had battered the island for days. “Butt out, Dad.” “I just asked what Chaney has been up to,” his father said. “We haven’t seen her much since the storm hit.” A palm frond blew across the deck and smashed into the house.
