Chapter 1: The Awakening!
August's eyelids twitched slightly before it slowly parted giving way for his deep dark irises to narrowly scanned through the room that doesn't in anyway resemble his formal small and not too large room. The curious eyes rotated on it's own like a stray cat until it landed on the curious gazes that was apparently and undoubtedly worried over him. Weird!
On his right, a beautiful and elegant woman with a pure and glowing white skin and red lipstick on her well shaped lips, stared at him anxiously. There was also a glint of glee in her gray eyes.
Beside her stood a tall and handsome man with agitation also etched on his well defined face. There was an almost an imperceptible happiness in his dark eyes.
"You're finally awake, son. How are you feeling?" The woman asked with her tiny and enchanting voice that was coated with uncertainty and worry.
"Should we get the doctor to examine you further?" August finally heard the man's deep voice as the look on his well defined sharp face also depicted how worried he was.
August didn't reply to any of their inquiries but stared at them like he was seeing some amazing and young vampires. Even though in reality their age might be over five thousand years! But it was strange how he never fidgeted in fright nor cowered in fear because his heart feels that this types of vampires were good and can never hurt him. BUT when does vampires started to assume this good and tolerating traits? It's never their style!
"Son, are you really okay?" The woman asked again almost in panic as her son had refused to utter a word to either her question nor her husband's.
"Hm..... son? Am I really hearing right? No, I must've slept for too long to the extent that I am now seeing and hearing things" August thought as he slowly sat up and yawned lazily.
"How long have I been sleeping?" He slowly parted his dry lips and this words proceeded out of his mouth as it were indeed the most important question to him....
"You have been asleep for one week now, son" The man replied since his wife couldn't reply as she was still shivering from panic. Their only son seems to have damaged his brain.
"Oh, seven days?" August nodded his head hysterically.. but then, "Huh?" He swerved his head back to the figure in front of him as the reality finally struck him and that was when he felt something cold and soft under the quilt making his movement to abruptly come to a stop as the thing seems to be moving too.
August frown in fear as he felt a shiver down his spine, but he mustered up his courage and used his hand that was still under the quilt to touch the creepy thing beneath the covers.
"Son, what is it?" both the man and the woman chorused as they noticed the abnormality in their son's behavior.
August blinked in confusion because the mysterious thing felt even more cold and disgustingly long and there were more than just one? If he guessed correctly, it felt exactly like something that he feared the most.....
He immediately lifted up the sheet up and to his wildest dreams, his thoughts were right.
"What the hell?" August's eyeballs almost fell out of it's sockets in fright as he saw many snakes from big to small surrounding him like they were guarding an important object and the next moment......
"Ahhhhhhhhhh" August screamed with a loud voice as he abruptly jumped out from the bed.
"Son, don't tell me that you are now running away from your snakes?" The woman asked as she ran to her son and held his hand. She looked extremely anxious which does not suit her pretty face.
"What the f**k are those things doing in the bed where I have been laying on for the past one week? And what do you mean by my snakes?" August was exasperated.
"Son, they're your favorite pets and you always like to leave them on your bed" The man explained.
"What? Who in his right sanity does that?" August was taken aback by the beyond crap he was hearing. He looked around the excessively large room and determined the door to the exit and sprinted towards it as fast as he could.
However, the man caught him in a few strides before he could make it far and said, "Son, you don't have to runaway from your room. If you don't want them, then I will get rid of them for now" And immediately this words left the man's mouth, he waved his hand at the bed and just like, the snakes vanished into thin air. "You know how to call them back" The man added.
"Whattttt" August screamed once more and fled from the room closing the door behind him without looking back. No doubt the magic performance from the man seemed to be more nerve wrecking than those snake he had sent away.
"Your highness" He heard some maids chorused immediately he closed the door and frowned.
"Sir" He heard a man in white coat, perhaps he was the doctor judging from his dressing and a stethoscope hanging around his neck. He also remembered them referring to him with those title the first time he'd woken up.
However, he spared them no glance at all as he continued to run down the long hallway that had him frowning even more as he wondered what sort of building the house was.
"What sir and your highness bullshit" Things were happening too fast and his mind muddled with different emotions. The only way he could breathe very well and think things through was if he could get out of this building that looked nighty and mysterious like a haunted house.
"Son, stop running. You just woke up and you have not healed properly. Running without resting properly might affect your powers" The woman shouted behind him as she ran after her son.
"Powers" August repeated in his head as he thought it was exactly why he needed to escape from this place and so he increased his speed. But immediately halted all movement when he saw his so called father materialized out of nowhere blocking his escape root and since his so called mother was at his back, he had no choice but to sigh in frustration.
"You should rest more, son" The man said before August watched him raise his big and powerful hand and waved at him and that was all he could remember before darkness befalls him and he slumped into the woman's protective and unexpectedly warm embrace.
The next time August woke up, he was surprised to see that he was still inside the room but he was alone this time which only proved that he hadn't been dreaming all along. They must've left him alone so that he could have enough rest like that woman had said.
He scanned through the room once again as his eyes took in it's luxurious and yet creepy furnishings.... black curtains, black carpets, black couch by the corner and even glass table in front of the couch was black also. The only thing that stood out in the room was the bed which was white throughout including the furniture. Weird!
He wondered what sort of person owned the room.
But then, shouldn't he be in his own small room rather than this extremely luxurious room. Or have they kidnapped him for their next meal?
No, no, no....that can not be the case I don't want to die in this way. I need to look for a way or an excuse and run for my dear life. I have not even dated anyone yet and my virginity is still intact, ah. Oh God help me!
As August was busy fidgeting in apprehension, it suddenly dawned on him that he was already dead in that explosion that occurred on his way home from the supermarket. He'd actually died without anyone in his life; a lonely death at that.
"How come that I'm still alive?"
