It’s a little after midnight before I finally pluck up the courage to unlock the door leading into the hall. Surprisingly, they have once again left it unlocked. The key is still in it, but it hasn’t been turned, trapping me inside. The majority of the night I spent listening to Kalen argue and fight with them over me.
I tried my best to ignore it and not eavesdrop but hearing the hatred spewing from their lips and listening to them warn Kalen to stay away from me not only bothers me but made my bond ache. I don’t know how it wouldn’t. Though I am a little shocked when I overhear Lycus start defending Kalen. That I did not expect especially since earlier Lycus was furious about finding Kalen in the shower with me.
