My mind flicks to Kalen in his vulnerable state. Sure, I could take his power and escape, but I know I won’t be able to. It would be so easy, but I feel like I would condemn him if I did. The floor creaks as I hear three sets of feet step into the room. I can smell the buzz of electricity as a portal opens up. I glance over my shoulder to see Darius, Tobias, and Lycus step into the room.
“You were supposed to stay in your room,” Darius snaps. I nod, noticing him glance at Kalen. “How did you find him?” he demands like I’m the one that brought him here.
