Ryder and Mortimer were teleported directly to a farmhouse in the countryside. After David and Vanessa had come out of Rosella’s store, they had been picked up by Ryder’s chauffeur who brought them to this farmhouse. It was a quiet place, removed from the city, and had its own ranch with livestock. Though there were quite a few cottages nearby, all of them had been abandoned during the last famine. This was the reason why Ryder had immediately purchased the farmhouse and the adjoining plot of land. It was the perfect place for them to stay away from prying eyes.
“Welcome, Mr. Ryder and Mr. Mortimer,” the chauffeur greeted them as they entered the ranch. “I have made all the necessary arrangements. Master David and Miss Chase have been provided with new clothes and are quite stable now,”
