Mia unlocked the door and ushered her in. A millisecond later, Joely had her answer. Just one of the twin beds looked slept in, and there didn’t seem to be enough paraphernalia dotted about for two people. “Nice room.” “Yeah, it’s all right, isn’t it? It’d be a bit small if I wasn’t by myself, but the balcony more than makes up for it.” After dumping her stuff on the unused bed, she crossed the room, opened the shutters and door and led Joely out into the open space. “Wow, I see what you mean. Nice.” The view over the fields was amazing. They were wild-looking fields full of scrubby grass, bushes and trees, rather than farmland or manicured parkland, but that was what made them so appealing. It was nature at its finest.
