Twigging I wasn’t going to take the bait, she shrugged. “Suit yourself. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.” She breezed past me, then used the trolley to push open the doors back out onto the shop floor with a great deal more force than was necessary. Now it was my turn to sigh. All I’d been trying to do was remain impartial, and now I’d managed to piss off the one person who could actually have been an ally.
