Chapter Seventeen
The first draft of my article totals some 20,000 words. My thoughts are that a three or four part series with a nice ‘bi-line’, no pun, will bolster my notoriety and thus my career. The lurid details, which border on the pornographic, will draw much attention, mainstream press included. There is no such thing as bad publicity, as one sage once suggested. So I keep the aphorism in mind as night after night the spicy descriptions pour from my word processor. Unfortunately, by week’s end, my editor, though not known to be prudish, is aghast when I present her with the draft.
