Sierra’s POV Nate trailed behind her, his easy smile firmly in place. “Morning,” he said, nodding at both of us. “Nate,” Jason greeted, his tone casual but unmistakably cool. “Jason,” Nate replied, a flicker of amusement in his eyes as he glanced at me. “Sierra. It’s been a while.” “Not long enough,” I said dryly, though a smile tugged at the corner of my lips. Nate had always been charming. Bella looped her arm through mine, steering me toward the school entrance. The day moved along with classes, though my focus was elsewhere. Lunch came, and I found myself sitting with Nate, Bella and Jason, absentmindedly stirring my drink as my thoughts drifted to Liam’s sudden call the night before. “Sierra, you’re zoning out again,” Bella teased, nudging me.
