The village of stettiqar was among one of the richest but also the poorest, the streets littered with people, most likely dead. There was no in-between, either rich or poor. Everybody was obsessed with beauty and if you weren't, you wouldn't make it anywhere. The school of Elk Valley Academy was a dark place to be, especially if Saelova Wanteley did not like you. She was the queen of the school, along with her besties (personal servants). Everyone did what she said and if you didn't, you'd either be deeply humiliated, expelled, or even killed. She couldn't care less. She was ruthless, just like her father, the owner of the school. Nothing was fair in elk valley academy. It was something you just had to deal with. Fighting always ended death: blood was everywhere, in school, in the streets, or even in someone's hands. There was no stopping it. Cora was a determined person, but just isn't brave enough, unfortunately for her, Saelova didn't like her, much rather despised her, she ad tried so many times to expel her, kill her, and even worse but Cora always knew what to do and it helped that she killed in karate which few people where back then, she was always very lonely as she had no friends, those who tried to be would get targeted by saelova. This was her reality until one day, when the annual talent contest was held, she would normally not enter, but her desire for change was strong, so she did For weeks to come, she thought of what to do. She wasn't very skilled at much things, so instruments with crossed so was any sort of dancing. She concluded she could sing, but she was quite insecure about her voice as her mother always told her it was bad, however her father was on his deathbed even that couldn't stop him from saying that her voice was like an angel The next day at school, she did the bravest thing, sing in front of everyone in school, with a little mediation and reassuring herself. She stepped on stage and started waffling. Everyone laughed at that. She then stopped and started singing. The entire room was quiet , people were swaying their heads to the singing. She was totally embarrassed. By the time she made her way home, she was a mess. She was in the shower for ages trying to get rid of the fish stock, which seemed to linger around her. After finally getting rid of it, she begged her mother to allow her to have a day off, but she refused, leading to her shoving her out the door the next day. She was walking to her locker where the same group of people watching her yesterday came up to her and started saying how much they loved her voice; they said it sounded like an angel.
