For a guy like me Delilah is a dream.

She wanted me when we were younger, more than wanted me. She had thrown herself at me and I had pushed her away.

I gave her a chance at a better life, away from the club and the violence that clung to us and what a life she built for herself. Beautiful and successful she had carved herself an empire.

But now my best friends sister is back, all grown up, and this time she needs the clubs help… my help.

I was strong enough to say no once but I don’t think I can resist this time.

Not even sure I want to.

Maybe it’s time to admit to myself that It’s always been Delilah I craved.

Chapter 1
Chapter One Double The unease that had been niggling in my gut didn’t abate with the first drink or even the second. I had thought it was just watching my oldest friend tie the knot that was making me so uncomfortable and once I got out of the stuffy registrars office I would be alright . But I had been at the reception for an hour now and the feeling still wouldn’t pass. It was more than unease now it was damn right panic and I had no clue why. Surely I should be happy. Dominic deserved this. He deserved it more than anyone else I knew. His upbringing hadn’t been much different to mine and like me he had escaped as soon as he was old enough to. Unlike me he had made something of himself or at least he had until he was kicked out of his regiment. Honourable discharge. It was comical, Dominic had given everything to serve his country and that’s how it had repaid him. One injury, one measly injury and it was all. Thanks for your service , now f**k off back to where you come from we don’t need or want you anymore. And just like that he was right back in this dump. With me . With the memories he had tried so had to forget. Still it was good having him back and he had come back to something or should I say someone special. They had something I had never had. Not once in my adult life. Still Georgia has been crazy for him since he was in school. She had waited for him his entire stint in the military. She was a good woman. And they deserved to be happy. So I was pretty sure it wasn’t them getting married that had me so jittery. No it was something else. God dammit. If the beer wasn’t helping I’d go back to the other thing that kept me sane. Well as sane as a man like could be. Swivelling in my seat , I kicked my long legs out in front of me and her eyes followed the movement like I knew they would. There was hunger in those black rimmed depths. Hunger and something else. Hope? Naw. That couldn’t happen. Had to nip the hope in her eyes in the bud as soon as possible. I had known asking her to Doms wedding had been a risky move. But not even in my wildest dreams had I thought she would think it meant anything … permanent. It definitely didn’t mean anything serious. And it wasn’t something I could deal with right now not when every nerve was on edge as it was. She would get the message. Once she saw me with someone else. Maybe two someone else’s. After all they called me double for a reason. And there was plenty of p***y on offer here. Some that I knew well. And some that I planned on knowing well before the night was over. Georgia had invited a ton of her old college buddies and it was a literal smorgasbord of p***y. But that would have to wait, narrowing my eyes I stared down at the hand on my thigh. Each nail sharpened to a deadly point and painted a bright garish red. The colour suited her. Cheap. And yet with her hand on my thigh it was easier to ignore the gnawing feeling in my gut. Maybe taking her out for a spin .. again .. was exactly what I needed. “Baby?” Her voice was breathy , a fake and for some reason it grated on me. Still I didn’t need her to talk. “Yeah baby?” I answered her with fake breathiness of my own, my eyes sweeping up the long expanse of her tanned legs, hovering like I knew that should on her over sized breasts that were spilling out over the top of a too tight dress, without actually seeing her. No it was the bar around me that caught my attention. Nothing new that I could see but eyes still lingered on the door and the throng of people , mainly women who had congregated at that end of the bar. Nothing strange there, didn’t women always travel in packs and Georgia’s friends must be feeling all kinds of uncomfortable right now. Good girls all of them, even if they pretended to walk on the wild side. “Double” My dates whiny voice made my eyes slide back to her and I couldn’t help the grimace that swept across my face. She looked a god damn mess. There was lipstick on her teeth and her to thick black kohl eyeliner had smudged slightly under her right eye. She looked a f*****g mess. There wasn’t one classy bone in her god damn body. Frowning I reached for the beer on the table, taking one long pull before setting it down. “Not sure why you are looking over there All hopeful Double” She gave a breathy laugh and I winced at the way she sounded. Could she be any more fake. Trying to turn me on with that s**t was just having the opposite effect. I doubted I could get it up for her now even if she dropped to her knees right now and put my d**k in her mouth. “Those aren’t your groupies” Groupies? My eyes narrowed as I scanned the small but ever growing crowd again? “Everyone is a Double groupie sweetheart” I winked at her, knowing I was being a total asshole and not having one single damn to give. She knew what I was like , if she thought me asking her to be my date to this wedding would change that she was in for a real rude awakening. “They just don’t know it yet” “You are disgusting” “And yet you are still here” I meant it as a dismissal but I should have known better to think she would go. She settled herself back, nails tap tapping on her glass. “Of course I am here, how else would I get to meet her” She grinned like a damn Cheshire Cat and the unease returned like a sledgehammer. “Like I would want to be your date Double, you aren’t even that good in bed” I laughed, I couldn’t help it. People could say whatever they wanted about me. But saying I wasn’t good in the sack was laughable and she knew it. “And yet if I told you to get down on your knees right now you would” She shrugged , not denying it. “Like I said I really want to meet her or at least see her in the flesh. So yeah if that’s what you want me to do then I’ll do it” Wait what? Slowly her words seeped into my brain. Her? What her was she talking about? Realisation came slowly. No f*****g way. “Then you can suck her d**k tonight” I didn’t mean it to come out as bitterly as it did but I knew she had heard it in my voice. Had seen it in the way I practically jumped to my feet. “Better than sucking yours asshole” She almost crooned. Her pale eyes glinting with malice. I didn’t even wait to hear the next words out of her mouth , making short work of the distance between me and my oldest friend I didn’t even notice the way my boots stuck to the floor. “Dom?” “Hey buddy” Dom was on his feet and instant, we may not be as close as we once was but there would never be a day that he didn’t greet me with a back slapping hug. It was just his way. “Can you believe it? She finally made an honest man out of me” I laughed because that’s what was expected but I knew the grin didn’t reach my eyes. “Yeah congratulations man, you too Georgia” We were going through the motions and Georgia knew it. In some ways she was more perceptive than Dom, it took her exactly zero point five seconds to realise I wanted to speak to Dom alone. “I’m going to go and mingle” She gathered all her white skirts in her arms and I had a moment to really look at her. “Georgia you look gorgeous girl” I called after her and was rewarded with a wide smile. “Thanks Double” “She looks good in that dress man” I settled myself into the chair opposite. “Didn’t think the whole white wedding dress was really your style though” He shrugged his shoulders, rubbing a hand over his jaw as if to scratch at stubble that wasn’t there. “It’s not something I … Georgia wanted it” And I was a total jerk for bringing it up . I knew they were going through a tough time of it financially. “Del…” I cut him off with a flash of my eyes and he stopped abruptly. “You invited her didn’t you?” “Double She is my sister” His voice was tired. How long had it been since we had argued over his baby sister? Years. It had been years since he had mentioned her name in my presence. I knew he was still in contact with her but he knew better than to bring her up in conversation with me. He didn’t understand my sudden dislike of the girl. And he couldn’t. It was better to let him think I was mad at her for leaving the fold. I would rather be known as the jealous on. It was so much better than the truth. “She’s been helping me and Georgia get back on our feet” Scuffing my feet on the worn carpet I mulled over what he was saying. Del had been helping them out? I knew things had been rough for them. A military pension barely covered their rent but to take hand outs? It was so against everything Dom stood for. “You could have asked me Dom, you didn’t have to ask her” “I am not asking you for s**t Double, she is my family. She helped me out. I am not sure what your problem is with her but you need to pull your head out of your ass” He levelled those chocolate brown eyes on me. So much like his sisters. “And get over it” I nodded once, of course he would think that. He didn’t know what had gone down between us. And he never could. He would want to kick my ass and I would have to let him. I might not of crossed that line but I sure as hell had wanted to. “I hear you” suddenly I wanted to be anywhere but here, at this table with him. It felt like I was waiting to be hit. And I couldn’t do a damn thing about it. How could you protect yourself from someone you hadn’t seen in almost ten years?
