I turned back to see Matthew staring at me with those deep brown eyes of his and my heart skipped for a second.
Seeing his face in the dim light of the club sent emotions of relief and also confusion came over me all at once. I was relieved because he was there, though I didn't want him to be there, he was and there was no doubt that he was going to help me out of my current predicament, I was also confused about why he was there. I didn't tell him I was at that club so I didn't understand how he always showed up when no one expected it. He was always appearing when I needed him. Yet, I was reminded of how hard it was to be in the same room with the man I was avoiding.
