"What are you saying?" Matthew asked me. His voice wore the mask of a broken man and my heart skipped when I heard the hurt in his voice.
I looked up at him and his eyes pierced into mine, searching for answers to his questions but I looked away immediately unable to look him in the eye.
"Allison" he called my name and walked deeper into the room. I stepped back, I didn't want him close to me, because I knew I would run into his arms if he came any closer.
