Spirit Wolf - Darkness (Book Three)

5. Damage

REI’S POV:

“That doesn’t make any sense.” Calen was complaining. Rosie told him her part of the story and they were also carefully listening to the whole story from my perspective. Calen was interested about the details of our relationship and especially about the times we spent together because his memories were impacted the most since we spent together most of his time. At some point he looked like he finally started to feel that something was missing and that those memories he had in his mind were not completely but to my despair it didn’t last long and he started to be defensive against this idea. 

“Look.” I showed him the faded mate mark he made on my neck and he instantly stood up from his chair to go check in the mirror his own neck. Despite the fact he saw my bite and the mark that formed at the crook of his neck, he was still hard to convince. Zack and Andrew were more open to the story I was telling them.

“There should still be marks of my work in the pack. You can ask Emily about the herbs and medicines in her laboratory. She might not remember from where it came from but she might at least prove that the medicine is pretty advanced towards those you were using before you came here. Also she has two sets of equipment since we were working together. Also there will be no understanding why there are two tables and microscopes and everything else but you will see I am right.” I was trying to reason with him about logic and for a second he seemed to be thinking about it. 

“Let’s say I will believe everything you just said. How are you going to fix it and bring our memories back?” I didn’t know if his question was meant for me or Rosie because I was actually not fully sure that it was me who caused it. I thought it was me since I remember this thought from my dream but Rosie also suggested that it might be Isaac’s work, especially since I already crossed my path with him and he already entered my spirit realm. 

I was also thinking about calling Zackary and letting him confirm that what I was telling was true but I didn’t want to get the information that we had a problem inside of the pack let out to others. Rosie was right that Isaac might be behind this and in that case he might be waiting for my pack to get weak and me separated from them so he can easily get to me. 

“I don’t know.” I admitted that I had no answer to his question. “Well, I don’t think a normal voice command would work but I guess we can’t lose anything if you try. Actually I think if Isaac has his fingers in this, then maybe your voice command should be able to undo it. The problem would be if you the one who caused this during your sleep while your consciousness was in the spirit realm then I am afraid you will have to undo it again from the spirit realm.” Rosie was talking to me and I knew I had to do something about it. 

“If they let me try I can use my voice command right here.” I said but all three looked extremely startled. I knew I was a stranger for them. Outside who was claiming to be their Luna but none of them had any memories of me. I was not even sure which option was worse. I wished that maybe Isaac caused this but no matter if it was my abilities or Isaac’s magic, both cases were my mistakes because I was the one who was weak and let Isaac manipulate me and brought him to this place so he could cast the spell in the spirit realm or I was so stupid and unconsciously commanded them to forget me. In both cases I was the villain. 

“She can use her voice command on me.” I heard Hannah’s voice from behind me swiftly turning around to face her. She was standing at the entrance to the Calen’s office and I realized I didn’t hear her coming, nor opening the door. “Are you sure?” Calen asked her and Hannah nodded. “Alright then.” Calen approved to my surprise and every one stood up from their places and headed out while Hannah was heading in. “How long have you been listening to our conversation?” I asked her. She looked quite hostile towards me and didn’t want to answer but for some reason she was still willing to let me try to undo this mess. 

“Remember me.” I focus my voice, filling it with the power. I could see something had changed for a second in Hannah’s face but then suddenly she shook her head disappointed. “Well, you definitely have a voice command but whatever is blocking my memories, it is stronger than you. I could feel there is something wrong with my memories and my mind was trying to fight it but in the end I was refused the entrance to that part of my mind.”  Hannah confirmed and I was not sure what that actually meant. 

The door had opened and Rosie with Zack, Andrew and Calen came back in. “So?” Rosie asked impatiently. “I can confirm there is a block in my memories and I can’t access some of them. I am aware of them but her command was not strong enough to unlock them.” Hannah explained I felt really desperate. “This is bad. So you really need to command them in the spirit realm. The spell or command was seriously used on their wolves which means it is affecting them deeply.” Rosie said and she also sounded sort of desperate. 

“I am not sure I can control that. I can try to go to sleep but seriously last month I don’t even properly remember my dreams. Not like before when I was remembering everything.” I complained. Before I was thinking how my life would be if I would decide not to accept Calen and live separately but now, when I was actually forcefully separated from my pack I wanted them back. I wanted to be again connected to them and feel the pack link. I didn’t like to be in the dark like this. 

“I am afraid there would be more to this story. Usually with your dreams you don’t enter the spirit realm so I still think it was Isaac or someone else behind this. Someone had to allure you into a spirit realm while you were sleeping and made you use your command. So I don’t think sending you back there would be a proper solution. We need to find the way how you can control your dreams and what you are doing inside of them.” Rosie said sternly with dedication.
