The same abrupt twitch that I felt in the muscle of my own palm occurred in Megan's hand. As I glanced up, I could see that she was starting to stir slowly but surely from her sleep. Almost immediately, she started to experience feelings of terror that began to consume her. I sprang to my feet right away and placed both of my hands on each side of her head, which caused her to turn her head and look up at me. She could not control her panic and continued to fight against the tube that was stuck in her neck.
