Pulling a suitcase from the sidewalk to place it within the caboose of the car, James caught sight of Poppy who stood in the perfect position for the side view mirror to spot her. Pausing from making any further movements, James grew confused on how to react upon seeing her. On one hand, he wanted to sweep her into his arms and away in place of Alice, but the other, he wanted to use his car to back into her from how much pain she caused him. Unable to forgive her for betraying him with Leonard, James went to move into the car in an attempt to ignore her. But as he slipped to the driver's side of the car, his eyes scanned the rearview mirror to watch her approach the car.
