The more time passed by, the more I was raging. Where are they and why haven’t they returned yet? Alice was supposed to make dinner for us, and yet she’s nowhere to be seen. The maids did cook for us to see her absent. The food was in table and Violet was waiting for me to join her. But she also felt the tense atmosphere and couldn’t dare to speak up.
Finally, they returned near bedtime, with my sleeping daughter in lap. They both were looking so happy together. But I don’t want to see the happy. I don’t want to see Alice happy with anyone.
