She waited for Rania to answer, but she could only murmur,
“I hope I will make him – a good one.”
They visited six more relatives and took luncheon with the last one.
When they left Charles said they had done enough.
“If you are not worn out,” he said, “I am! I am sick of saying the same words over and over again. But you have been marvellous and it pleased me greatly to see the admiration in all their eyes when they first saw you.”
“I thought they were just being critical.”
“Not a bit of it, Rania, you are exactly what they want for me. As I expect you noticed, they all asked when the wedding is to take place as they are afraid that I shall run out on you at the last moment!”
