Chapter 18

{Emily}   "Orion, what's your relationship with Daniella. I want you to be clear with me."   The wooden spoon he was holding stopped stirring the pancake batter. After a relieving make-out session and a nice bath, we were finally eating breakfast. But it was better to clear the dust.    "Em...I don't want to talk about that right now," he said rather gruffly.    "But I do," I fired back, folding my arms across my chest.    "Emily. It's private."   With that, I shut my mouth. If he wasn't willing to open up his feelings to me then why should I? Why should I tell him that I'll have a bunch of pureblood suitors lining up at my door soon? And that soon there'll be an engagement ring on my finger. Turning eighteen was a curse.   "Fine." My chair scraped against the tile floor and I hopped off it. I marched up the stairs and silently locked my room door. "Hello? Yes, it's me. I would like strawberry stuffed crepes and a mocha coffee. Oh, and put some cream on the side."    Orion was cooking breakfast but I just ordered breakfast. For myself. Ah, the sweet taste of retaliation. I was regular at the coffee shop I just called. They knew my secluded house by heart because whenever I was on Red Moon Week they deliver my breakfast. They should take about twenty minutes to arrive. Perfect.   I try to be understanding but it's difficult. How can I not have my doubts when he used to hook up with my biological sister? And now he refuses to say anything so my doubts are increasing. Time ticked by and the sizzling downstairs flowed into my ears. It was a heavenly scent of bacon, eggs, and fries?   The doorbell rang and I dashed down the stairs, twenty dollar bill in my hand. I slid past Orion and opened the door, greeting the delivery guy.    "Seventeen dollars and ninety-three cents, please," he said, handing me the takeout bag.    "Keep the change," I replied, taking the bag and shutting the door. When I turned around I saw Orion staring mindlessly at the bag in my hand and back at the plates on the kitchen island. He shrugged and turned away. He sat down quietly and began eating.   My mouth watered at the scent and appearance of the food. This retaliation was turning on me. I quickly went to my room.    Needless to say, I couldn't get Orion off my mind.    ***   It was eight at night. The red light of the moon flowed into my room. I stayed here for the remainder of the day, refusing to give in and apologize to Orion. Though, his disappointed face was locked in my mind. The heat began attacking me. The skirt and tucked-in shirt I was wearing was burning against my skin. The second Red Moon night was the worst. Never in my life had I felt a need for Orion. The need for his claim on my neck. This was too much. The room door silently opened and I slipped out of the room. The wooden floor felt cold against my soles. The stairs creaked under my weight, warning Orion of my arrival. The living room was dark but the TV light illuminated Orion on the couch. Surprisingly, he was soundly asleep. I licked my lips, remembering the sweet taste of his lips. Softly, I approached him and sat on his lap.  He jerked awake, shoving me off him. My butt landed roughly on the carpeted floor, my thighs brushing against the rug. I winced, cursing my idea of wearing a skirt this morning. Strong arms, wrapped around me and pulled me back up.  "Sorry, you surprised me," Orion hoarsely said, the sound of sleep in his voice. He gently brushed my thighs, noticing the redness of them. My knees clamped onto his hips. He lifted his head slightly, peering into my eyes. "I assume you're in heat again." "Mhm..." "Then fix it," he dead-panned, nudging my head away so he could see the TV.  "I'm sorry for what happened earlier, Beta," I whispered into his ear, a strong wave of heat racking through me. "Tomorrow I'll eat anything you cook." He scoffed, "Go back upstairs." I changed tactics. "Beta...during Red Moon nights, we only think about any males who lusted over us during the day. The last man to lust for me was the delivery man. Do you want me going upstairs and only think about the delivery man?" He clenched his eyes shut, resting his hands on my hips. "Of course not." I squirmed under his firm grip. My panties underneath my skirt rubbed against the bulge in his pants. I began rocking back and forth, feeling the delicious friction. He groaned, rubbing his face in frustration. "You always win." "Beta, I want you to give me what I want.” He glanced at my skirt that was riding up my thighs. “You wore that on purpose.” “Beta…” I whined, my hand pressing against his shoulders.  “Stop rocking,” he growled, his fingertips gripping my thighs to a stop. Deep frustration swirled in his eyes. “I can’t control myself when I’m around you. You drive me crazy.” “Beta, it’s very hot and you’re starting to aggravate me.” If anything, I was more frustrated than him. He’s seeing me at my weakest point where I’m practically begging him to f**k me again.  Orion raised his eyebrows. “You’re aggravated.” I swallowed. “Imagine cooking a three-course meal from the woman you love and have them order take-out.” My mind buzzed trying to register his words. Woman he loves. I blew cool air into his ear. “I love you too, Orion, so can you f**k me now?” His breath hitched and the only sound we could hear was the sound of our breathing. It might’ve been me but I was sure his body was trembling slightly. “Orion?” His voice was shaky. “I-I really want to...to…to mark you as mine.” I bit my lip. This was tempting. But what would everyone say? They’d know that the heir of a powerful coven was mated to a wolf. Then again, that’s why makeup existed, right? To hide stuff?  “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked something that couldn’t happen,” he coughed, covering his mouth with a hand. He was hiding his exposed canines.  “Do it.” “Huh?” “Mark me.” “What? Are you sure?” I leaned in close to whisper, “If you don’t someone else might beat you to it.” Orion’s eyes darkened and his grip was harsh as he tugged me closer. “Never.” I felt a sharp sting on my neck. I loved bringing out his dominant side. I’d get what I want that way. My mouth watered at the intense burning through my body. Before he pulled back my fangs pierced his flesh. His groan traveled down my spine. Now I was his and he was mine. Maybe it was a mistake but I didn’t feel that way. ***
