Chapter 6 Darnell watched Wade, anxiety building as the seconds ticked by. He’d been too eager, too pushy. Maybe that wasn’t what Wade had wanted after all. Two men could do many other things also. He’d even heard the words, but he flinched from using them. They all sounded coarse and harsh and ugly. What he was feeling for Wade existed in a world far away from those words. Although the word love shaped itself strangely in his mouth, he knew that was what he felt. He wanted to say it aloud, but he didn’t dare. “I’m sorry. I presumed too much, didn’t I? You were the one who was supposed to decide and direct what we did. You’re the man.
