10. Truth of the Curse

**Luca** I started to stir, woken up by whisperings around me.  My head was pounding and it felt like I was laying on a cold cement surface.  I decided to lay still and focus on my other senses instead of opening my eyes because I wanted to know what these people were talking about before I let them know that I was awake.  As I lay there, I could hear that everything was a slight echo as if the people were whispering outside of where I was.  I held back a shiver from the cold room around me.  The moisture in the air made me think that we were either underground or in a basement of some sort.  I could tell that they were not too far away, but hopefully not close enough to notice when I shifted my position off of my injured side. “But that can’t be!  There must be some mistake…”  The voice
