Chapter 12Nicolaj kept one hand below the table, rubbing his thumb on the worry stone he’d purloined from his own shop. Its smooth surface helped focus his thoughts and kept his nerves at ease. While he was aware of Westley’s ability to communicate with the dearly departed, at least to some degree, it wasn’t something they ever discussed at length. Mainly because bringing it up caused Westley discomfort, likely due to the memories tied to Vito and his first appearance in Westley’s life. The conversation they were about to have, though, was overdue and hopefully provided some clarity. He wanted to push, make it as in depth as possible, but figured now wasn’t exactly the time for it. “I know you avoid talking about Vito and ghosts in general, I understand why,” he started, truthfully. The
