BY THE TIME Ty arrived home, Marissa and Sophie had put their clothes back on and left the bedroom. Although he was surprised to find Sophie at his house, he affected a casual air, almost disdain. Shortly after Sophie left, Ty turned to his wife and asked, “What was she doing here?”
“Nothing much. She just wanted to talk. I guess she’s looking for a friend.”
“Oh.” Ty was somewhat disappointed in this answer. He had been intrigued by her unexpected appearance.
