Dill just groaned in response, and it wasn't clear to Tilly or him whether it was due to the pain of his injuries or the thoughts of what he wanted to do with her when he was better. The doctor stepped in then to take over, unaware of the topic of their conversation so thinking the groan was solely down to the pain.
'I think it's time for some more painkillers Dill. Chances are they'll send you back to sleep for a while, but that's a good thing as it helps you heal.'
