Tom's distress call had come in just when I had been about to read through the anonymous message written on the pizza box. I had been so worried that I forgot all about the pizza and continued pacing around. At some point, I actually did consider calling and reaching out to Emilio for the sake of two scenarios.
Perhaps, he had Zara with him and was holding onto her just to make me return to him but then I gave it much broader thought. Certainly, Emilio would not want to do that or hurt my friend knowing that would provoke me.
