Leone's POV:
"Mom, why did you choose a human to be my project mate?" I asked my mother. "I know, you have something going on in your head," I suspiciously said. My mother used to think I was a naive kid, who knew nothing about the world.
The secretary present there left when my mother, Elizabeth Warrick, gestured to him. "Have a seat, Leone," she said to me while getting straight on her chair. I noticed how mom clasped her hands together and carried a stoic expression on her face.
"Mom, I am not here to sit," I finally said. "First, you made an exception and let a human enter this academy. I don't get you, Mom. Why do you love to play with me?" I complained.
"I don't understand why you think Miss Vivian's acceptance in this elite academy is related to you. Also, you are lacking in your academics. I have been reported by Professor Angelo how you miss the classes and use your grandfather's name to take marks from the others," Elizabeth counted how badly I lacked in the academics.
"Who ever cared about studies, Mom? You and I both know I'll inherit our family business anyhow. Just tell Angelo to remove that human from my group," I said with annoyance etching on my face.
"Leone, you forgot that apart from the alpha duties, your grandfather is clear about one thing. He wants you to improve your image before getting selected as the Chairman of the company. So, you better work on this project and get the top rank. If you fail to do so, you won't be considered for the chairmanship," my mother clarified to me.
I frowned at her statements. My image was ruined because of a human too. Last year, I ended up making out with a female human and she used my name for her advantage. The reason why I started hating humans.
"What if I don't want to?" I then asked in my casual rebellious tone.
"Then, you'll be thrown out of this academy. Rules are rules for everyone. Even if you are my son, you need to listen to your professors. If you weren't the weakest student in your class, you would not be paired with the most intelligent student in your class. Now, you should leave because I have important work to do," my mother threatened me.
I couldn't say anything to mom since I felt I had no option left. I disliked Vivian since the day I had encountered her. But now, I had to stay close to her because of a damn project.
"By the way, keep in mind that you should be at the top when the results of the project are out. If you fail to achieve that, I have to end some of your privileges, including the black card you possess. And I'm serious this time," Mom cleared to me.
"Mom, I'll do it. I'll come at the top," I said as if it was some kind of challenge for me.
"Very well. Take Vivian out for lunch. I have heard she is being bullied a lot because of you. I cannot tolerate this attitude of yours for a long time," Mom pronounced.
"Seriously, a lunch?" I couldn't believe my mother, suggesting such cheap tricks.
"Yes, a lunch, my dear son. You need to discuss with her about the project and rectify the mistakes you have made so far," she said.
I didn't know what was cooking in my mother's head and I couldn't risk losing the black card. So, I agreed to do that and left the office soon.
**Present time**
Vivian was shocked to hear what Leone told her. No one would dare to bully her. If it was true, then she was relieved. She had heard Leone was a big name. Even the professors feared taking action against him.
"But I get bullied because of you," Vivian stated. She didn't hesitate since she felt I couldn't do anything about leaving this group. If I was capable enough, I would have done that by this time.
"Shut your mouth. You were the one, who crossed my path," I got irked.
"So, whoever crosses your path, you bully them," Vivian asked with a quizzical glance at me.
I scrunched my brows together. "Are you trying to be smart with me?" I didn't like being questioned by anyone and this girl had this audacity to do so.
Vivian lowered her eyes and bit her bottom lip.
"Let's end the conversation here. I'm famished," I said and walked away. Vivian followed me silently, maintaining at least five meters away from me.
"The canteen is here," Vivian said as she stopped by at its entrance, in a loud enough voice.
"I don't like the food there," I said as I turned to glance at her. "Why are you so far from me?" I asked annoyingly.
The students from inside the canteen watched us. They were astonished to find out that I was actually talking to Vivian, the school nerd.
Vivian pushed up her glasses when I walked to her and grabbed her arm. I dragged her along with me and we both reached the parking lot soon.
"Get in," I commanded her after I opened the front passenger seat's door.
"In your car?" Vivian arched her eyebrows.
"No, on my head," I taunted her. "Of course, you have to sit at the front. I'm not your driver that you have to sit in the backseat," I stated.
Vivian got into the passenger seat and I closed the door with a loud bang. I took the driver's seat and saw how Vivian was struggling with the seatbelt.
"Tsk."
I leaned toward her when she pressed her back on the seat. "You know everything in academics but you don't know how to put on a seatbelt." I fastened it for her.
Vivian felt my breath on her neck and I could tell, her heart raced. "I-I have never used a car for traveling," she murmured.
I leaned back on my seat and drove the car out of the campus.
"Where are we going? I have classes to attend," Vivian panicked as we were away from the college. She looked at her watch, "The classes will begin in the next ten minutes."
She gazed at me, but it I patiently ignored her. Seeing her panicking gave me happiness. However, soon, I pressed the accelerator, thus speeding up the car more.
"Leone, what are you doing? Are you going to kill us?" Vivian was terrified with the speed I had accelerated the car.
"Let's die together, Vivian!" I said with a smirk directed at her.
