It was several weeks later and Chad was working in the storeroom of the shop. The bell over the door rang and Chad came out to see who it was. There stood a cowboy talking with Mr. Elderberry. Astonished that a cowboy would be found here, in Elderberry’s store, Chad let his eyes sweep over the man. He was tall, wore a fringed buckskin jacket, tan breeches, and tall, black leather boots.
