The women arose first. By the time the men awoke, food had been prepared and their weapons had been lined up, ready to go. A plethora of spears leaned against the wall by the door, and beneath, on the dirt floor, axes and knives. Beside the spears stood shields painted black and blue, featuring various individual designs.
Brennus and Cyprian ate with the men and those women who were to fight alongside them, and after a great deal of hugging and arm-gripping, they left the hut to join the others who were congregating by the gate.
