I heard a piercing scream and realized it was coming from me, as I stood frozen as Elisa tumbled down the stairs to land in a broken heap at the base. My heart hammered in my chest, fingers stiff and cold as I forced myself to move, eyes glued on the gruesome sight below. Someone shoved past me, pushing me aside so hard my shoulder hit the guardrail and I gasped as pain bloomed from the spot. “What did you do to her?” Aiden had reached Elisa, he kneeled down beside her, his expression a picture of panic and fear.
